Ok, my current exhaust setup is gutted manifolds, optimized Y, and Trubendz with magnaflow muffler. Now, I was on the trubendz site again and noticed they have test pipes for Cougars now, and was wondering if they would fit. Also, would this be beneficial, because the one I am looking at retains the cat, and I was under the impression that a test pipe eliminated the cat altogether. Also, I just recently installed the gutted manifolds, and do not have MIL eliminators installed yet. Will the ones on the site work?

Test pipe and Hi Flow Cat are contradicting statements. A test pipe is a straight pipe put in the place of the cat that eliminates the cat. A Hi Flow Cat is just that, a hi flow cat. Something about this doesn't make sense. Basically, they are calling a hi flow cat a test pipe and saying a MIL eliminator is needed. Sounds like BS to me. Don't waste your money. If you want a stock looking test pipe, crack yours open, weld a straight pipe in, close it up and put it back on. WAY cheaper than what's listed above.

You seemed to blatantly miss the part about it being for a 2001 or 2002 Cougar though!
I believe even the post header says "Cougar" as well.

They have one O2 sensor after the main cat. None after the pre-cats.

Also $20 for one is a HELL of a lot cheaper then other MIL Eliminators available. (Still cheaper to build your own though)

You are correct that we do not need one when deleting the main converter.

Yes I do agree that by definition a test pipe is a replacement for a converter.
I am guessing they wanted to use the same "terminology" for ease of understanding since they sell test pipes both with & without a cat.

The terminology used is very misleading. I did not miss the part about it being for a Cougar, he even mentions it in his post title. I was just commenting on their choice of words. You're saying the cougars have one before the precats, then one after the main cat?

All V6 Cougars still have the two primary O2's.

trubendz also has the test pipes with no cat at all, which is the way a test pipe should be. I think the question was just if it would work on a contour. I'm sure it would if your tour has a 3 bolt flange. I havent been under my svt in awhile, but I think it has a 2bolt...
