I have a superchip that I bought for my old 2000SE. I wasn't able to use it because the ECU needed a jumper soldered in by superchips for it to work. I am wondering if that is something across the board for all 2000MY cars, or if it is code specific. I'd like to reprogram it for my SVT, but if it too requires a jumper, I'll list the damn thing for sale.

All revised PCMs (late 99+ SVTs) require adding a jumper (solder connection) to activate the J3 port.

Either way I'd sell the generic POS chip anyway though.

Superchips...generic? I was always under the assumption that they were a decent chip...regardless, thanks for the info, Demon.

Any chip not specifically made for your specific car usually specifically done on a dyno is generic and usually won't do much for a mtx. Superchips is a fine company, just an off the shelf chip ain't really worth it.
