those are listed at spmotorsports as well however I believe they require special wired and are origionally for late model Cougars

Yeah, the Accel coil pack needs the 01-02 Cougar plug wires.

Good option for someone changing both, but if you already have good plug wires, just stick to the Ford coil pack.

Has anyone had a failing coilpack for the v6? I thought the failed ones are usually on the 4... but can't remember for sure.

any advantage to this over stock?

i got about 100K on my stock coil and i plan on getting a set of magnecores. if this will give me any benefit on my turbo 3L im working on might as well buy it and the proper wires for it

I just replace mine today! The coil began to misfire
and a code came up for bad coil etc. That coil must be a
problem since You can,t find any at the junk yard.

Do you pan on running over 18-20PSI? If not, then you don't need to worry about flameout.

Assuming the coil pack is in good working order then he has nothing to worry about.

Use stock plugs or a stock plug replacement with good wires and a 0.045" gap and it will hold 14psi on our 10:1 compression turbo motors. This I've tested on 2 different 3.0 duratecs that I've owned and a stock ignition system with cheap autozone wires as well as AlliedSignal brand wires and stock wires.
If anything the wires are the weak link in our ignition system as they get old, so far nothing else.
