For the horsepower gain part...yea there is a noticable difference, take this from a guy who has it done.

cool but how do u make the o2 cheaters

read the schematic, and solder it that way.

I take it you HAVE the schematic, but don't know what to do from there?

You can't just "try" with this... if you want it to be reliable, and safe.

There is a diffrnece, but i would not kid our selves....maybe at most i dynoed 5HP more than with out them gutted...its not a big diffrence...and it was barly noticeable to me...So don;t be too surprised if you cannot feel too much. By the way...5hp is at the edge of most dynos error %.

Just make the mechanical one...I'll make them and send them to you for like 20 bucks. It's what I use on my WRX...no soldering, no clipping wires...completely reversible

the how-to is posted on here for mechanical bungs, too.

By Big Jim, IIRC...

It wasn't me. I know it has been posted though, but it was probably two or three years ago. Try searching for MIL eliminators.

It may also help to look under "mystery mod".

Or just go there. It's 30 bux tho.

I thought it was you, but guess not.

I have could swear I have seen it MUCH more recently than 2-3 years, though.

I don't remember much about the actual operation of it, but there were pictures, and a how-to as well, perhaps as recently as 1.5 years, but time runs together after a while and we may be thinking of the same post.

just pick up 2 boxes of sprak plug foulers that have the same thread as your o2 sensor...you need 2 foulers (1 box) for each side. Take one fouler and drill 1/2in...that's so the whole is 1/2 all the way through (you are drilling through the very small hole)...then screw them together...screw your o2 in one side and then screw it back in the o2 bung.

here is a link w/ a pic of ebay...it's would help you know what they are.

That is what it'll look like screwed together.
The cost per box is like 1.50 or so.

If you precats are plugged you'll get some horsepower back but if they are working fine then there won't be any significant increase in power. So just gutting them for the sake of power isn't worth your time, only to save money buying new ones. Better to spend the money putting on headers, you'll be a LOT happier.

I gut mine very easily (withem on the car still) I would say it was worth while...I noticed a hair of improvement...I also had an optimized Y and resonator replaced with staright through...and I had 2.5in pipe from y to the back where it splits again to dual mufflers. I loved the sound and it was a bit more peppy...I think it took me about 2.5 hrs...and I would say it was worth it. Especially since he has 100k plus on the car...they are probably not flowing as well when they did stock.
