I need to pick up a rear bumper for my 99 Mystique and I have a quick question. What year range can I pull a rear bumper off of a wrecked Mystique or Contour and fit my 99?

Thanks.

Yeap, all rear bumpers are interchangeable, though not all look the same. Just go and find what you like.

grab a 98-00 SVT bumper, doesn't matter what colour, or even light damages and scratches. If you're a DIY kinda guy then paint gun with bondo is your friend. Otherwise a body shop that does the whole thing for $200 or less is your friend, $100 or less and you owe that man some sexual favours.
Ok cool. I wouldn't mind doing an SVT kinda thing to it, maybe swap the front grille out for a contour grille. But I don't want to drop a ton of money into it. Its just going to be a beater so the Mustang can be a garage queen.

But if I did throw some money at it, I would look to make it look like this Contour

One hot CSVT

The only reason I need a rear bumper is that some guy hit my sister inlaw awhile back with his trailer hitch and ripped a huge freakin chunk out of the rear bumper. It just looks alittle ghetto

SVT rear bumper without skirts or front is ghetto.

or you can grab a bumper from the yard sand it and paint it. Should be cheaper, man I'd break that guy in half, some people have no respect for other people's property.

It got hit before I got it

I just have to fix it

junk yards are loaded with contours and mystiques, take the rear bumper and rattle can it yourself IF you take your time. There are some painting tips in Aesthetics, just couldn't find the thread. If not, try your best, car-part.com has lots of em, just enter your postal code and you're in business.

Yes, the junk yards are reasonable, especially if they will do something with incentive, I know this yard that has ALL YOU CAN CARRY parts for $45 entrance fee.

If the question was for me, I got the car for $100. It was my sister-inlaws car. The ac compressor froze up on her, so she went and bought another car. I just put a shorter belt on it to bypass the ac and got it running again $100 to transfer the title and registration.

Only real bad things with the car are the rear bumper, its freaking dirty inside, and it has 152k miles
