i have a 99 contour can anyone tell me where i can find the place to hook up a tester to see why engine light is on. auto zone said there wasnt any place to hook the tester on too . they said it isnt under the drivers side dash.

Tell them to look harder. It's there. (on the far left)

It's there - they're retarded.

It's on the far left side of the underside of the dash. Run you hand down the underside panel of the dash and just as you pass under the lip, you'll feel it right there.

I second that.

The first time I had them read my computer for the codes for the CEL, the guy took probably a minute or two trying to find it. I just stood outside and tried to keep from laughing. If they had told me they couldn't find it, I definitely would have laughed at them!
