Ya it's a 2.5...i have the regular bolt on stuff like I/H/E, and then i have an SVT TB/UIM/LIM.

Hmm so all your saying is I can put 100 shot on my svt and get similar results??

Now all I need is enough money to buy the stuff, and then fix it all after I run it!

lol...ya that's yours

Pole...i ran...like you...a 14.9 all motor. So i gained 1.5 seconds from this.

I'll prolly go back in a month or so hopefully with the exhaust, TB, and some weight reduction...

Which mods do you have running 14.9 NA?
Posted By: PDXSVT Re: 13 second run in my cougar - 06/19/06 05:32 AM
So even with the BFG drag radials and 100/125 shots of nitrous, were you still running stock half axles/hubs?

What tires were you using on your prior 14.9 NA runs? And at what RPMs were you trying to launch on those NA runs?

Mid 13s on a 2.5L?
That's an example of how laughing gas can make you giddy.

Congrats.

And keep us posted on your attempts to lower your 60' time.

What gears were you spraying in?

Yes, stock axles and hubs. When i ran that 14.9 i had the drag radials also. And then i had a 2.0 60 foot so i know i can shave some time off of the 13.4 run cause the 60ft. on all three of those runs was a 2.1. I launched at about 3500, and just slipped out the clutch a little...no wheel hop at all. Except for when i hit second it would hop once or twice as the tires were grabbing.

PS...i might be giving myself bad luck and it might explode next time out...but i must say...this SPEC stage III is holding AWESOME! No slippage at all!

Oh...and my mods...let's see. intake, SVT TB, SVT UIM/LIM, weapon-r headers, trubendz y-pipe, true borla catback, torsen, Spec III, koni/GC's, and the tires.

yes i would, i had it installed during thanksgiving along with my torsen, then about 3 weeks later my synchros went, so that was redone. so i am very hard on my vehicle and at this point every powershift into second results in slippage, either it is not engaging all the way or it is glazed or whatever but it is annoying, but oddly 1st is usually fine, i can get tire spin, then i shift into second and rpms just stick where their at. so when the 3 liter goes in it will be followed with a spec stage 3 and a fidanza i am thinking.

You've got issues. I'll put money on it that it wasn't your cluth's fault. How did you break in your clutch? If your syncros went out 3 weeks after the clutch install, you were probably beating the sh!t out of the clutch from day one. That deserves a .
Then you sai it's slipping in 2nd, but not in 1st? Does it ONLY slip when you powershift? I think it's slipping because you didn't break it in properly. You're the first person I've seen complain about the performance of their SPEC clutch, and not the chattering noise. Oh, and if you break in a stage 3, the same way I'm guessing you broke in your stage 1, you're going to have the same problems. That will result in a doublt

actually beak in was to the dot. i drove alot on it the first 4 days to break it in, all 500 miles.
Posted By: Y2KSVT Re: 13 second run in my cougar - 06/30/06 06:15 PM
500 city miles? Hopping on the freeway for 125 miles a day is NOT going to break in a clutch. Hell, 125 city miles in a day is just plain hard to do, unless you don't have a job. I think it's more in HOW you break in your clutch, than how many miles you break it in for.

nice times. definetly trim up on the weight, take the backseats out etc.

Power to Weight and Good Driving bring good track times home.

I know all about that because my Dodge Colt tips the scales at 2080 lbs and once the motor is rebuilt should be putting down about 350-400whp
