Hey everyone, it's been awhile, but I had the car tuned this past Friday and I figured I would share the exciting(for me) news....

Mods include:

G5X3 cam from LG Motorsports
NLP underdrive pulley/damper
LG lontubes(no cats)
GHL catback
Vararam intake/Halltech airbridge
160 stat
Spec 3/aluminum flywheel

437.6 hp-396.1 tq!

The car pre-cam had gone a quickest of 11.78 at 120mph with a 15mph headwind on a 1.89 60' time...

At that point the car was making around 375 whp. I can't wait to see what I can get her to do now as she surely has some more top end pulling power!

Not bad at all for cam only car. How radical is that cam? Like MTI X1 style because that's one of my favorites. My uncle what thinking of a cam and I told him that it was well worth it. You should think about getting some 3.73s or 3.90s put in.

I'm predicting 11.3 to 11.6 in the 1/4 mile. Good luck with that thing and try not to light them up everywhere!

The MTI X1 is a 228-230 112 cam IIRC. The G5X3 is in the 237-244 ballpark(exact specs are not available to the public ) and mine is on a 114 lobe, so as you can see my cam is a fair amount larger than the X1.

As far as gears are concerned, the stock 3.42's are ideal for track days, and seeing as I like to make all around performers(look at my old TOUR')I do plan on keeping them.

Plus, the ZO6 M12 tranny with 3.42's is comparable to the regular Vette/Camaro/Firebird's MN6 with a 3.90 rear end due to it's closer ratios...

The LSx motors are pretty cam friendly. They seem to respond very well to them. Congrats on the new numbers.

BTW, there are big plans in the making for your old 'Tour.....VERY BIG!

That seems a bit low.

My friends 02 WS6 with a Comp Cam and ported stock "LS1" heads did 455/435 wheels. (also has headers, exhaust, and K&N kit)

He's run a very traction limited low 11's on just the motor. If he had found any traction he definitely would have been kicked out.

Actually he's a little of above where he should be. 437rwhp is pretty high for a cam-only Z06. I've seen H/C cars that don't do better than that. The heads on that LS1 must have flowed pretty well.

I agree....The only other cam-only cams that can dyno that high are the T-rex, the G5X4, and the TTP Equalizer...

Once you remove the heads for porting be it LS1 or LS6, usually the valves are replaced, and the heads are milled for compression which nets some serious power gains on these cars...

My optimal setup on this car is/was AFR 205 heads milled for 11.25:1 comp, my current cam and an Fast manifold/90mmtb setup. This combo should net me in the 475+whp range and around 445+wtq.....

I'm excited to hear about the new plans....She has quite a bit of potential, it's just I had reached my power goals with that particular car...

Good Luck!

you guys and your light cars. im in awe. i will have an ls based car once i get out of school. those engines are just amazing. those ls heads flow so well its ridiculous.

im looking for 340whp on my low compression turbo motor in my lightning before i put the turbo on. it makes me wonder more and more why i have sunk so much money into my lightning to probably just run mid 11's when i could do that with just bolt ons on a car. heck if this motor was in a stang it would probably be good for 9's. darn these heavy trucks. but it is fun to see a middle aged corvette owners face when he gets walked by a 4500 lb truck.

again, great numbers.
