I guess the graph explains it all.

The 364 whp run was made on 16 psi and was cut short at 4,700 rpms since it hit 13:1 air/fuel. I think if we could have taken it up to redline, it would have been a 400 whp run easily.

Your car is insane!!!! X10000000000000000000000000

Thats some serious torque! Glad to see its up and running.
I think that graph officially makes you the winner at the contour game...
You guys had to see this thing, Its a beast.

First off, awesome!

I have questions (the graph didn't explain everything... ):
1) Why'd you shut it down before 6500?
2) What were the boost levels at for these runs? I'm guessing that run #2 was too much boost for the fuel?

Congrats, Jim. That thing's a beast!
I have a base tune for 8 psi. As you could probably expect, doubling the psi might cause the air/fuel to flucuate a bit, which it did. As soon as it hit 13:1 air/fuel, Phil stopped the run.

Is your rev limiter set for 6300?
nope, its the stock rev limiter, 6750 i think. But since power starts dropping off around 6,000 i figured why not take the motor higher than it has to. I just told Phil to stop the pulls at 6,300 rpms.

Understood.
So when are you going to get the fuel set up for 16 psi?

Again, great job, Jim.

Nice power Jim.
Wow! Very nice.

So what psi was the green run at? What psi was each run at?
Are these SVT cams again?
blue - 4 psi
green - 8 pis
red - 16 psi

these are svt cams, hense why the power starts to drop off at about 6K.
You mean SE right? Or am I smoking something?

All I have to say is Jim's car is B-A-N-A-N-A-S.

What injectors are you running Jim? Any boost reference for the fuel pressure regulator???

screw power numbers, what does that thing run the 1/4 in? Anyone hit 12's yet?

FPR enrichment? - please this aint no redneck Camaro.

He's running 42's with fuel enrichment coming from increased pulse-width from the ECU.

Here's my dyno plot.

Next up - forged internals and I/C - gotta put Rick in his place!
'Stazi what kind of tuning do you have? twEECer?
Posted By: Stazi Re: New dyno numbers from Spring Zing 05! - 05/23/05 06:19 PM
Nope, just the ADC kit, and it's far from perfect. All sorts of CEL's cos the ECU isn't 100% happy with all the mods and stuff.

That will be addressed when I build up the donk for next year.
Stazi,

You do realize with my other mods that I am now partially in possession of, I can crank the car another 750 rpms plus have more, cooler boost, and I still wasn't running 113.

Hehe, all I can say is bring it. Mike's STi knows how my car runs.

Rick

Next year should be interesting! I'll have the car tuned for a larger shot of the giggle-juice! So Stazi, you better be running 15psi through that turbo!

Like i said in the SZ forum thread, congrats! You've put alot of work, money...and i'm sure, blood, sweat and tears into that car. It's nice to see it finally pay off.
sorry, i meant to say non svt cams.

Didn't Phil say that we could access our files for printing from their site? I checked it and it looks like it hasnt been updated in a while, like a few years
I have a set of SVT cams that would love his car that fit 99 3L heads perfectly I believe its the only set to date. He doesnt want them
Nope, I'm running SVT cams in 99 3L heads on my ride.

I think he's simply talking about a boost referenced FPR, not rising rate. It is imperative that the fuel pressure regulator be referenced to boost at 1:1 so that the fuel pressure is set relative to manifold pressure, rather than atmospheric otherwise fuel pressure effectively drops off as boost pressure rises.

Brad knows better than to promote the rising rate FPR bandaid crap, don't you Brad

Seeing as their vac line routing is as stock, then yes, it should be 1:1 with the intake manifold pressure.

Yessirey Jim Bob, that shur iz a fancy turdbowed Escort you got there. Lemme hep ya wit dat fuul problum... Durrrrrrrr, where da carburator at?

My question for boost referenced FPR is valid, especially with the reported idle and driveability problems of this combination. Sounds like it just needs some more tuning if pressure is set up correctly.
