Its the weight of your car, plus the arsing around the transmission does as it lazily slips into second that will see a smaller, light car like that catch you. Its more about power to weight ratio etc.

After getting that sweet BMW, you should look for a second hand Duratec SE/Sport whatever, with a manual shift.

and I can murder him with my mx-3, the only reason I won't get an MTX v6 contour is because I already have a car that can run 14's.. this contour is my beater and has lasted me and my family 8 years, which is good. its never left me stranded... I was just dissapointed how his little car beat me, I think my car is dieing, or its in really bad shape.. the engine doesn't feel "fast" anymore, like it did a while back.

but come on, should a healthy atx zetec get wipped by a 1.6DOHC 105 HP engine? I mean come on! but when we got our car 8 years ago it did feel much faster then what it feels like now, its a total slug. I'm dissapointed.

well I guess my contour will stay as my grampa car hahaha, and yeah the mx-3's are ALOT lighter, 2400 lbs... but the dood driving it is pretty big, 200 lbs.. and his passenger was also about 160 lbs, I'm only 170.. and my gf is like 130? haha, maybe with a 5 speed I could of wooped him!

but when I come to a stop, it vibrates so badly the whole dashboard shakes.. and you can see it shaking! same with the steering wheel... and sometimes the idle will start to bounce up and down, and it will stall.. the car is such a peacec of garbage! lol, I love it tough

I'm doing a complete brake job today, new 02 sensor.. and I'm fixin the downpipe/funnny looking flex pipe... because there both shot, and supposbly its why its running like shiat.

throw some new plugs(autolite DP) and wires in it.

^ no she ain't missing, I know what a miss is, my mx-3 needs new spark plug wires and it misses, occasionally..

my contour doesn't miss it's just hesitating, extremely bad. like I come to a stop and it idles fine at about 700 rpm, its just shaking alot, and at some stops... then the rpms will drop to 300 then back up to 700 then 300 and 700.. repetedly (sp?) give it some gas and it smooths out, wait a minuit and it does it again, its quite odd..

I was told it was because my flex pipe is shot... and the sensor (02) sensor and the ones by the flex pipe causes it to run like [censored], thought it was just bs.

I want to fix it, to get it running smooth again so I can sell my mx-3... but with the way it runs I can't do that!

This is for an Explorer, though its the same valve used on almost all Fords. I don't know where the valve is on the Zetec though.

Car won't run if it bad.....if it does, it surges. The IAC valve is located UNDER the intake manifold next to the starter.

Driving home the other day my motor started knocking and finally gave up on me. I hsd to have it towed back to the house and trying to find someone to throw a motor in for me but with no luck so far.

But come on Kremit, with all that stuff you did to your car, it has to be decently fast. I always get people at that speed too cause its not fast until 4500 rpm. I think they are decntly fast, faster than anything I ever drove, but thats not saying much. I love my car even if it is auto, as a manual in my old 91Explorer made even it fun to drive at times and it was decently fast

I think they are decntly fast, faster than anything I ever drove, but thats not saying much. update... my cars getting worse, on cold days when I start it, its missing... BADLY, hesitates, and just runs like absolute crap, in cold weather, when I start it up cold.

wow, I never seen a car run so crappy. after about 2 minuits it evened itself out.

It surprised me when I got you off the line, I only get VERY VERY SLOW cars off the line. Anyways all our cars are slow and I'm done with ever thinking otherwise (until/when/if/maybe I get a turbo).
