Spotted a 2000 Cobra R today on my way home. Followed through one town and when we hit the highway we had some fun. Can't say much more than that on the forums. Let's just say speeds were not so legal.

Only had my camera phone, and my g/f took the best shots we could really get with it.

The driver was a little asian kid, look no older than about 17 and could barely see over the wheel.

fake.

Real cobra R's have side exhaust.

(This one's Real)

You can't rule the little asian kids ride out as fake just because of rear exhaust. He could have put a regualr Cobra rear on for dual exhaust. But more than likly, it's fake just becuase the colors a dead give away.. unless he painted a real Cobra R that color (idiot).

Yup.

It had me thinking alot when I saw it. The chrome wheels I knew were not factory, but I forgot about the side exhaust. Oh well.

Also, the color of the car was correct. My camera phone throws off colors big time.

I should of known when he pulled away from me on the highway it wasn't a Cobra R. Let's just say it should of been alot farther down the highway than he was. I figured he was taking it easy on me.

Also has the wrong brakes, wrong hood, and it appears to be a stick axle on the rear by the way the exhaust runs.

sorry
I kept forgetting to post about it all week.
It was at the Budweiser plant in Merrimack, NH.
Besides, I thought you were in Chicago.
Or was that just last weekend?

One of the Ferarri guys had his sneakers displayed with the car. We thought of you.

Like you've seen a lot of Cobra R's or anything.

I would absolutely love to take one of these to Mid-Ohio or VIR.

Speaking of Ferrari... this pulled up next to me today while I was in Sindelfingen (where they actually build Mercedes vehicles...) which is just outside Stuttgart:

Are you high? I can only hope you are trying to make a joke that isn't funny, and aren't really that arrogantly clueless . . . The SVT belongs to SVTforMe, and myself and several other current/former SVT employees and CEG members can vouch for the car that it is in fact genuine.

I'm pretty sure that was a joke referring to what was said before.
I guess you didn't get it though...

See, I caught the reference to the previous statement; but usually jokes have some, even the tiniest sliver, of humor associated with them, and this one didn't have any at all, not even visible with a microscope. This is the source of my confusion.
Posted By: Kremithefrog Re: Fun with 2000 Cobra R - 08/29/06 04:07 AM
I was confused as well. No haha in that joke.
Posted By: cannondalemtb Re: Fun with 2000 Cobra R - 08/29/06 04:46 AM
Well maybe it wasn't a joke, but I can't see why he would have said something like that. So that is why I took it as a joke.

failed joke... no harm intended, thought it would be light hearted.

Sure is! One of the few places you can find 4 Cobra R's with one owner.

Of course it is - all of my cars are fakes/clones.

I rode in one at Mid-Ohio once, oh my god what a blast. The torque was amazing! That car pulled in any gear at any speed.
