Here are just a few pics from a recent cruise around southern VT. The first pic shows the Bennington Monument in the background. Maybe next time I'll head to the top of the monument to get some "top-down" pics

And now, pics of my new DD/winter vehicle. It's an '03 Focus ZX3 w/ the 2.3L Duratec (151 HP, 154 ft/lbs). It only took 5 days for the mods to start (E1 SVT rims installed).

It's going to be soooo hard not to modify this little bugger more. You can get a SS cat-back for $249!!!! "It's your daily driver/beater Mike....it's your daily driver/beater Mike...."

That's exactly why I bought them! I've seen M3/M5's around w/ similar rims and I fell in love.

I don't think "no mods" is written in stone, although the easiest first mod is usually an intake and this car is a PZEV (Practically Zero Emission Vehicle) so the intake is locked up and servicealbe at 100K mile intervals. Folks on FocalJet have found some nice work-arounds though

Came from Ford w/ the 2.3L. They offered it starting in '03 in CA, NY (and 1 other "green" state). Starting in '04 it was available in all states as an option. It's a really nice engine...and it has a timing chain so no belts to replace like the 2.0L Focus Zetec.

yeah basically its a mazda engine, as much as I like the zetec, the 2.3L is a better engine... Although, I HATE the way its setup in the engine bay

BUH! must be a PITA to change the spark plugs. Although im happy that car manufactorers putting the engine in the way it SHOULD be. I mean, it makes sence to have the intake manifold at the front and exhaust manifold at the back... What an awesome engine.

UGH! that would make installing a supercharger SOOO EASY!

How do you figure??? Its got coil on plug, and doesn't even have a coil cover . . . pop the coil off and put a socket on an extension down in the hole . . . not that tough.
