My neighbor recently summoned me on a few offers regarding a detailing job for his cars. Him and his wife have their own business where they certify equipment for pharmacutical (sp?) companies. In a nut-shell they are very very wealthy, but very nice guys. They wanted me to detail both their Mercedes, SLK-230 and CLK-320. The cars are 3-4 years old and have NEVER been waxed or really taken care off..lol..I didnt use any of those fancy Klass Act, Zaino or that carnuba stuff, I just went to Auto Zone and bought Meguiars Gold Class since thats all I use on my car and it always comes out great..Without further ado, the pics..

sorry about the pics, they arent the greatest since it was cloudy all day. Tommorow however I get the guys personal toy to detail, his brand new 3 month old Z06

First off I gotta comment on this car

Is it me or do those rims look WAAAAAAAAY to small for the car Now the style of them is great, but the size isn't, hey Goonz, talk to those guys and try and let them have you set em' up, seeing that your on a roll with them because the cars came out great My only suggestion is to do those engine bays and spray em' with tire silicone or even the tire foam if you must. I've found that doing the engine bay nets the most "wow" from people

BTW, what are you charging them and what all are you doing in the process

yes-- by driving it FAST

BTW Goonz, I envy you for detailing a brand new ZO6
Posted By: Goonz SVT Re: My Detail Job.. - 07/24/06 02:43 AM

yea those are 16" ATI Italian somthing rims, the insides are black but the outer is polished..205/55/16 tires..stock E0 size he doesnt care too much of that car, he calls it a pu$$y purple color, which it really is under different shades. His new toy is the Z06..

those engine bays were pretty much COVERED with years of dust and leaves..I just put that CD2 engine detailer and spread it around, they were amazed..each car took me 4 hours, 2 coats of wax, no clay bar. I mr. cleaned them and waxed the car..interior vacuuming, used that meguiars vinyl cleaner, light coat, dont want everything to reflect. That SLK-230 is the guys wifes car so when he was bringing her over, he made her close her eyes the whole time before she got there and when she opened them, she was in shock. the car in person looked amazing, thats the reason i love black.

Tommorow will be the Z06, he wont be home so he left me the keys. When that car starts, the whole neighberhood knows

Im sorry Rodger but i honestly dont feel comfortable telling how much i charge..i hope u understand

I've had some premium, fast cars over year in the past couple years (Z8, 70' Chevelle SS454 LS-6, 69' Vette w/427 tri-power) but to be honest with you, I'd have to take that car for a "little spin", honestly! I wouldn't beat the hell out of it because I have to much respect for my customers, but I'd have to drive that one for sure

I don't mind you not telling me/us what you charge, its all good

well i know the guy, he's taken me around in the car a few times, but yea as u said, why the hell would i beat on that car. He has a spare set of OEM Z06 rims he uses for auto-X, he has hoosiers on them I will be cleaning that set as well. There will be alot of pics tommorow

The same! I don't know why but I've always wanted one. They're fairly rare to find with a stick shift.

I agree, that is a great shot I too agree about the Kompressor 2.3L, that would've been cool to have in my Crossfire
