I just installed my new blue Optima Marine battery.

I recessed the battery down one inch by using 1 inch angle iron scrap I had lying around the garage, an angle grinder, and some horrible welding skills that I already had. The positive cable worked with a longer bolt and three nuts to hold the cables together. I also unbolted the ground from the top of the fender well and bolted it to one of the fender bolts(you can see the ground wire near the fuse box in the second picture).

I used 3/4 inch foam insulation with adhesive backing to keep the battery comfortable on the tray.

All you need is some shiny new terminals to set that off!

Engine itself looks great; UIM, valve covers, TB, engine mount; but the stock intake makes baby Jesus cry.

Well, I wouldn't want that to happen. What would be the reccomended short ram to buy?

Just curious, why a marine battery?

Looks great, nonetheless.

Why the marine? It's a deep cycle battery that isn't yellow and matches my spark plug wires.

Looks good the engine bay needs a little cleaning but not bad at all. Nice job.
