Ammended info:
We will have instructors available that will hop in your car, and help with
the lines on the track, etc. There will not be an instructor assigned to
you that drives with you for the entire day.
We hope to have around 20 cars on the track at once. We will have a minimum
of three 20 minute sessions, we are hoping for four. So that is less than
$50/session, less than $40 if we do four. Damn good deal if you register early.
Passing is permitted in the passing zones only.
We will be running on the North Track, it is 1.5 miles long. It is a lot like Lime Rock.

Will you be bringing the Cougar??
I'm BRINGIN THE BIKE!!!!!!
Yes The cougar is coming... and 8 race tires... cause I'm pretty sure I'll eat them all up...

So far, there are only like 33 people signed up, and that means a snot load of seat time..
I think I'll bring Puff AND Peep.
Woohoo! The cougar makes it's debut! I'll be there.

Puff AND Peep! Ya know ....I could drive one of them up there for you.

Poor Sal, he just needs a "track day" to call his own. Maybe they'll let you take a few laps.
Glad to see some people coming up, I'm looking forward to learning some stuff.. too.
Does this mean I have a pit crew? ok all my tires in 16 seconds... GO... go... go...
Actually Its Good cause I need some camera people...
anyone have a miniDV cam... I have an extra blank tape..

I might be able to bring one up. Just make sure you DO bring tapes 'cause it's the School's camera. But it's a sweet one.

Cool! I always wanted to be on a pit crew! Just don't let Steph be on the crew. You might lose a tire! Hahaha!
See ya on the 12th!

HEY!!! NOT funny!!
Anyway, cant wait to see the Cougar go, Eric!!
So anyone other than me driving in the event?...
Just checking...
Whoohooo its tomorrow.... I'm excited and nervous at the same time...
I went yesturday to watch some action there... mmm mmm good.
I know, me too.
I'll have to be bringing Puff, though. Can't drive Peep presently.

Can't wait to see you there!
Woo hoo! That was fun. I'm so f'n beat! Could be because I've been up for 32 hours now but three thirty minute sessions was FUN!
I started to get some serious brake fade on the last session, though and my coolant light flickered a couple of times so I didn't do the last session (yes, four thirty minute sessions!). I think it was the repeated braking from 115 on the straights.
I need some track rubber - I had to let some Escorts pass me.
Favorite car? Toss up between some of the NSX's, the '00 Cobra R, Lotus Elise and the track prepped SN95 Cobra (2900 pounds!!). Except he lost brownie points for running a Corvette front suspension and Camaro rear...
Only like two people spun off I think so it was (for the most part) a well behaved group. I pushed too much once or twice to pass people and I feel bad for that but I'll get over it.

Eric's got the pictures so don't yell at me for not posting them!!

Ok, only another 7 hours before I get to go home and go to bed...
thats great man...it sounds like u had some real good fun.....happy for ya...
It was a blast.
I think the best part was this older guy in a beat up miata that he picked up for $500. I had a hard time keeping up with him in the turns (he had track rubber and much more experience than me - a combination hard to overcome ) but I completely owned him on the straights. If I let him pass me I'd have to modulate the gas to keep from running him over.
I told him before going out on one of the sessions that we'd have to be on opposite ends of the pack because we were constantly in eachothers way. He said he'd look for me once he got on the straights and wouldn't see me so he'd concentrate on the road. Next thing he knew he'd hear me letting off the gas b/c I was right on his tail!! His expression was great.
We took a video and from the far end of the track you can hear my exhaust over EVERYONE'S. It's awesome.

Photos can be found here.. Yes it was an awesome time... especially beating on the Tour.. just kidding, you walked me on the straights.
as you should.. 3.0 man.
Hey Eric, where can we see the mooovies?

My favorite pic is DCAM0029, that body roll is great!!

here is one MOVIE still working with making other
small ones.. I have over an hour of footage.
"You may experience problems playing a video track in 'firsttrackday2.2' because the required compressor could not be found."

I'm no internet guru so I have no idea what that means other than I may have to download something. What is it and is it free?
Posted By: EricF Re: PSCC 2003 Track Day-Pocono raceway:PHOTOS - 08/14/03 10:21 PM
They are in the quicktime format, so you need a quicktime plugin.. or whatever from www.apple.com/quicktime
I just dragged "MOVIE" onto my desktop and played it in quicktime. Too bad it's a small video, but cool you passed a Mustang, if that's what is was.

yes sorry its small... gotta save space hehe....
Hey! Just finished d/ling the right stuff to watch it. I had to download quicktime AND a file unzipper. LOL

When are we getting more?? I need a clip of my exhaust!!!

COOL...
Uh, I think your movies sick... I downloaded the other one and it was ok (if a little small but you said you had to) but this one is really scratchy. Any ideas?
Posted By: EricF Re: PSCC 2003 Track Day-Pocono raceway:PHOTOS - 08/22/03 11:34 PM
scratchy? sound? video? I dunno I scaled back the quality of the video
you wanted to hear your exhaust..so the audio is supposed to be a little better, the rattling you hear in my car is the damn little nuts that the spare holder, screw into.. lots of wind noise too I know. I'm working on that.. view it in half size the quality will look/appear better..
Really? All I have is a shot of your hand on the wheel behind me. And everyonce in awhile it will flash to whatever the movie is supposed to be showing. It's hard to describe...
The first scene doesn't change but little bits - only a fraction of a second - come through during the rest. Really weird.

I watched it from my broswer, and it ran fine, I'm having some other people(NECO) try it... I'll let you know.
What is your computer speed? maybe it might be that?
It's slightly older but it works well. It's a Dell Latitude laptop - I believe it's a P233 with 64 meg of ram (I know, I know).
I d/led it again but still the same thing. I just downloaded and installed the latest stuff from Quicktime (that I didnt' have to pay for).
Posted By: EricF Re: PSCC 2003 Track Day-Pocono raceway:PHOTOS - 08/27/03 01:42 AM
Well I'll see if I can encode it another way..
some people can see it others can't... so I'm
not real sure...
Any luck?
After getting a cable modem I'm an internet movie whore!

Well i'm not home right now... but I had a hard drive failure, not a problem as all the footage is still on tape
but I have to recover what I can off that HD before I inport anymore video.
Ok, I'll stop buggin' you.
