Piaa 510 install I think this is Slimshadys website? Install is a breeze and they work great
yup, that's the "how-to" I used. I found that my bracket didn't hold aim too well. Epoxy to the rescue.
I could snap some "action" shots if anyone is interested.

I'm glad everyone likes the PIAA's
This is one of the best mods i did, cruising around town with just the fogs on looked so sweet.
Anyone that has these will agree that they look so mean.
I have just one opinion on these....
If you have HID's or plan to get them then buy the ION'S!!!
If you DON'T have HID's and don't plan to get them then get the superwhites.
The ION's are a true foglight that are yellow and resemble the IS300 fogs, they transmit light more to the sides of the road instead of straight out. BUT WITH HID'S THEY LOOK SICK!!!
The superwhites are a driving foglight that light up the road in front of you better then your headlights (i swear)
The only thing that i recommend is that you get a new set of headlight bulbs, Piaa has a set of headlight bulbs that match the superwhites. I installed theses in my SVT with the superwhites and it was as close as possible to match.
I'll be helping SVTcuervo in this GB but he will be in charge of everything.
In my previous GB's with the PIAA 510's you can ask anyone that was involved they went so smooth and i guarantee this will be just as smooth.
I want to say I am in for a set of Superwhites, but it depends on when the GB goes down and my disposable income at that time.

Just thought of a question. Do we just wire into the existing harness or do we need to put a relay into the line. Just wondering if the existing relay is strong enough or if it needs another one?

Very simple, cut the plug that goes into the OEM foglight splice it.
The piaa housing has a plug coming off it from the housing that plugs into a female end of the piaa wiring, take the piaa wiring and cut it leave enough wire to play with, and then splice it together with the OEM wire that was connected to the OEM foglight.
all those relays and BS from piaa throw it out, i never hooked it up and never had a problem.

Did some checking but didn't really come up with an answer for you, sorry. I found nothing that said they would or wouldn't fit.
Maybe this will help you....the dimensions of the 510's: height=4 1/2", width= 4",depth= 2 7/16".

PIAA 510's won't fit in your mystique, the 510's are oval
Piaa does make fogs that would fit but i have no clue as to what set would fit.

Bulbs i'm not sure, but the glass lenses i believe were $38.00, when i post the phone # to place the order he'll let you know how much they cost.

Don't worry, there have been a bunch of Group Buys for the PIAAs in the past. (Just search) I'm sure he's aware of the potential sales, just as you're aware of the potential savings, which are directly taken out of the profit margin.

The reason why it took so long is because they my contact was being charged from piaa to drop ship directly from piaa's wharehouse, so i told him how many we need (approx)

The OEM headlight bulbs are kind of yellowish but the piaa headlight bulbs are more whiter to match the color of the fogs, I'm not going to tell you to buy them all i do is recommend that you change the OEM bulbs because they DO NOT match the color of the fogs. You don't have to buy the piaa headlight bulbs but i highly recommend you change the headlight bulbs. I'm not sure how much the are but he will give discounts on everything because its a group buy.

We used the dremel on the mounting bracket so the PIAA's fit in the bracket better.
Spliced the wires and mounted them right up. Pretty easy install.

has anyone else had trouble putting in the superwhite bulbs? maybe i am just stupid or something but i can't seem to get the bulbs to insert far enough for the tabs to get under the plastic thing. admittedly i did not push very hard but i did not want to break anything. i don't know if it makes a difference but i noticed that the base of the piaas is thicker than the stock sylvanias......and the numbers match. any ideas?
ALright I got the install almost done... is there any trick to splicing the wires, or just strip, solder, tape? Which wires on the car connect to which on the piaas? Does it matter?

The wires that go to the stock oem have a plug at the the end, cut that plug off and splice the wires back (two wires)
on the piaa wiring you have wires that come off the piaa and plug into another set of piaa wiring, you don't need all those relays and crap so cut them off and splice it together with electrical tape.

I haven't opened the box yet as I have been doing other things. I've been packing two cars in preparation to taking my youngest daughter to college in the morning.
Question: did you use different bulbs than what is in the box or will I find the right bulbs when I open the box? Thanks, Tom

The bulbs are inside the piaa housing already

How is everyone doing with the PIAA's?
I've done the wiring, but mounting them is an adventure for me. Since I have a non stock front bumper I'm having to make brackets.
Finding time has been an adventure for me. I don't want to try and do them real quick so I'm waiting for a Sunday off. I spent the last one painting calipers and rotors silver and this Sunday is my youngest daughter's B-day-the one I just took to college. Luckily she's only an hour away so we'll be together. To all you young "studs" out there, don't worry, your day will come.
Anyway, I hope the install will be as easy as Slimshady says it is. As anyone knows who has read some of my posts, I tend to get frustrated quick. We'll see.
Slimshady's instructions tell you to remove the tabs from the PIAA's, but you don't have to. Simply mount the housing up-side down and be sure to flip the lens so that "PIAA" will be right-side up when they're mounted.
Instead of using a dremel tool to remove the excess plastic from the factory mounting brackets, I simply took each bracket over to my oscillating spindle sander (from my woodworking habit) and sanded off the excess in no time flat.
To make the lights easily adjustable, I made a rubber washer to fit between the factory bracket and the PIAA housing on each screw. I made the washers by cutting 1/8" or thinner pieces off the end of some vaccuum hose. Works like a champ!
To connect the wires, I cut off the connectors and about 3" of wire, from the PIAA harness. I spliced those wires to the factory wires with "Quick Connect" connectors. I didn't even have to remove the factory connectors! (Just be sure to tape up the connectors so there's no chance of a short later on.)
Re-installaion was pretty easy and with the added rubber washers, adjustment is simple: push the light up or down as required. The rubber washer maintains enough tension to keep the light in place.

Just take your time and be sure to jack up the front of the car. Give yourself at least an hour (if not 2). If you run into any problems, PM me.
I'm going to try to make a drawing to show what material needs to be removed from the stock SVT brackets in order for the PIAAs to fit correctly. It's not a whole lot, but a picture's worth a thousand words.

I found your how-to very helpful!
For those that haven't installed them yet, you really shouldn't have any problems. Along with Simshady's how-to, others have posted about their install and that should further assist you.

Well, after I figured out how to remove the 2 little plugs on the bottom of the bracket, I got them out OK. The dremeling was no big deal. Then to put them back together--there's where the happy stuff started. I couldn't get everything together without the inside nuts coming off. Then all of a sudden I took a very short piece of scotch tape doubled over on itself, put it between the housing and the nut, and whoopy $h!t, it worked. Now all I have to do is reinstall. Shouldn't be a problem since I know how everything came off.
Next post should be: Got them installed and love em!! Thanks to all involved for a great GB. And thanks to slimshady for having the guts, ideas, and how-to for this mod in the first place. As I was screwing around with the housing, trying to get it off at first, I'm thinking, "this guy (slimshady) had a lot nerve taking the first steps in coming up with this." Props to you, man!

After they were installed I couldn't wait for it to get dark either. They lit up my garage! Then of course I had to drive around and check them out.

I have to give alot of credit to shaggy for showing me how to install them, he had most of the input, but i did throw some info in there
I'm just glad everyone liked them as much as i did.
JUST A NOTE FOR ALL WHEN PUTTING THE PIAA HOUSING BACK TOGETHER MAKE SURE THAT RUBBER GASKET IS PROPERLY IN PLACE
