Well I've just gotten off the phone with OMP's new American Distributor and I"m going to be alble to get us a Group Buy for the OMP Adjustable Front Strut Tower Brace!!!!
Here's the deal. I need 30 people. I'm going to post on NECO too because it fits the cougar aswell. The price will be $90. These usually sell for $130. I really think we can make this happen.
Here is a description of the product pulled from SP:

The color itself makes no difference in performance 
. Its simply a different color. However you can't choose your color. It will be either Yellow or Red as stated by the manufacturer. Thanks

When it comes to color, we are at the whims of OMP in Italy. We get what they send us. I'll will have a long talk with OMP on Monday/Tuesday to get everything ready, and I will bring up the color issure, however its been told to me several times that we hvae no choice. It is very unlikely that we'll be able to get a GB for those. BAT is having them made by some guy out in Florida and they pretty much sell as many as they can get in so I don't believe a GB will take place. but We do have the OMP

Here ya go. Bar is 3/4 in, with 1/8 wall thickness. Both sides are threaded, 5/8 in. IMO, very heavy duty. Worked wonders on my car. $60 shipped in the lower 48.
I experimented with bolting it to the towers, but I found just adjusting it tight against the towers is enough, without having to drill holes. Makes it easier to remove too.

These strut braces are made specifically for the four cylinder mystiques ONLY!! They will need some modifications to make fit. Have you ever seen any other strut brace with the bar to the back? Plus if installed towards the back the bar will damage the A/C lines. I know I bought one, when I looked further into this bar I found it's only for the 4 bangers. Once modified they work very well. I had to heat, bend, & heat, bend several times.to make it fit. Trial and error. If you heat too many times the bar will become brittle.

I had to heat, bend, & heat, bend several times.to make it fit. Trial and error. If you heat too many times the bar will become brittle.
other then having the AC line where it is, there is absolutely no difference between the cars with the different engines, it is a known fact the AC line has to be moved slightly to make it fit for cars with the duratec....
moving back to the group buy, any word?

I get unhindered approval from them for 2 straight weeks and then just today they tell me this. If anything, I was told, these braces will not be available till ealry October when OMP USA takes in their biggest shippment from Italy. And even if a shippment comes in large enough to fill the orders we have, OMP says that their loyal customers from "years back" get first dibs. NOW THIS IS STUPID. First off you tell us that we will be able to get these ASAP and at a damn good price. And I wasn't deeling with some newbie either...It was one of the big guys up there. Well guys sorry to say this, but the Group Buy is dead

look further and you'll find these were only for the four's. didn't you notice the way it didn't fit? call some of the parts places linked to CEG, ask them? I'm not kidding, I made mine fit and love it. worth the effort!!
Loyal contour customers?
Did they officially lower the price? Will these possibily be available in limited quantities in October? Anyways, that's stupid they did that and stupid they don't try to get enough in for the GB.

By the "loyals" i meant the businesses that buy from them regularly. It does make sense that the long standing companies that deal with OMP don't get undercut by large Group Buys like this, however don't tell us for 2 weeks that its gonna happen and then pull out. I wouldn't be suprised if somoone caught wind of this and complained to OMP......Oh well.....we tried
well for the heck of it I just emailed spmotorsports asking about their avalibility for the stb
I also aske din my email if they were presented with 30+ people ready to buy what price they could give us
so maybe it can be done that way?

no offence but I have seen a few cars with them and they fit fine, I even watched one get installed and it went in in a matter of 15 minutes
as I said before I have looked at my zetec and my duratec side by side and the only difference is the AC line and that moves
stop trying to drive people away from buying, maybe you messed things up?? most likely I wam wrong so sorry, but no one would want it if it didn't fit the car correctly and yes some do have fitment issues

Not that it matters anymore since OMP is screwing us, but the bar fits fine. All you gotta do is pull the a/c line away and wedge the strut brace in behind it. It's no big deal and if you "had to make yours fit", you made alot of unnecessary work for yourself. Check my signature, several pix in it of the bar.
What about the tuning Zuebor(sp?) on wavrdr's car? Can you get that one on a deal?
Their is only 1 bar. They fit all models.

Front Strut bar from Tuning Zubehor, the same as in the picture I posted. It's for the 2004 Mondeo.

Well the guy from tuning Zubehor says the retail is $199. He is trying to get the European company to throw a group buy price but it's still is stuck at $199. I'm waiting to hear back. Not holding my breath however.
Im on an Escape forum as well.. a few guys on there want one for the Escape and someone is looking into making one for them. I asked if they could look into one for the Contour. He said he would ask.. so when I hear something Ill make a post.
Is there still interest in a group buy on this? I am working with someone to possibly produce one for us. Please reply so I can show them that there is interest and may possibly need someone in KY to be willing to have a template made. The price is not set but the estimate at least for the Escape is around $100 unfinished and $150 powercoated. I dont think the price would vary much if at all for the Contour.
i'm out, I ordered the OMP bar from spmotorsports today
there's still interest, so far as I can see in the NECO GB thread.

Whereabouts in KY? I can make a run up there no problem. I've got family in Louisville; which is pretty much as far away from Chattanooga as anywhere else in KY. I could make it there and back in a day.

Anyone else? ChattavegasSE is willing to make the road trip to get a template made. I dont want him to make the trip if there is not enough interest. The guy would like to sell 5 to make it worth the time of fabricating and all that.
