Ford Racing plug wires are available for $42.00/set from Chicago Connection. Phone is 773 229 0655, ask for Bill. Many CEGers have taken advantage of this deal & have been quite happy.
Whats the MM size of these wires ?
Thats cool , but it seems like everytime i get new wires for my car there always TOO LONG , even though there made for the Contour 2.5 V-6 , but i might go ahead and do this .
these are great wires, same lengths as originals, each wire is numbered, and choice of color-red, blue or yellow.
REALLY ? / .......... OK >>SOLD <<
Darn , line is busy LOL ,
COOL all done and ordered , that guy was real happy ! he said his sales has tripled .. !!
Someone should ask him if he wants to do anymore GB's for Contour.org
I know we've given him a lot of business
He saiud he didnt have much for our Contours .
He's primarily a Mustang & Chrysler shop geared toward drag racing. When I was looking for wires, he was listed as a Ford Racing dealer, so we hooked up this deal. The other product he could help us with would be stainless steel braided brake lines if there's any interest. Brand would be Earl's.
OK really dumb question but I'd rather know than be wrong. The wires are for your spark plugs right.THere is only one size? Are the wires compatible for a 99 svt. I know I know, i need to me smacked!
Lol. Yeah these are spark plug wires. The 9mm Duratec set should fit all Duratecs, non-SVT and SVT alike.
Ok. stupid question, I know... But do they have them in stock for the zetec's too or just for the duratecs?
They are made for both. Not sure if that guy stocks both though. If he does, they might be a little cheaper as you only need 4 wires.

Don't forget to mention that you do have to dremel or file the plastic pieces that secure the wires so that they fit properly, since the 9MM are a little wider than stock. Not very difficult.

this is a g/b i'd be interested in depending on prices for a set of 2 lines or for all 4
if he can beat sp and cta and others on a price of <100 for all 4 i'd be down

Put me down as interested in the SS lines as well.
(Disclaimer: This is an expression of interest, not a promise to buy. )
I thought that was his standard price LOL. I just ordered Wed night. Cool guy.

or stop at autozone/pepboys, etc. & pick up some nice chrome wire clips
GOT MINE TODAY !! and he sent a bunch of catalogs too !
i'll take pic's and tell ya how they fit tomorrow
THEY DO NOT FIT WORTH A CRAP, THERE TOO LONG AND IT'S NOT WORTH IT , I HAVE BEEN FIGHTING WELL OVER A HOUR TO GET HEM TO FIT CORRECTLY AND STILL LOOK GOOD .
apparently you aren't doing something right then...because alot of us(including me)have them and they fit fine...you did know that a 9mm wire isn't going to fit through an 8mm wire loom right??????????????and that you must dremel or file out the plastic looms for them to fit correctly......also these are a tad longer than the stockers, but they still fit the car perfectly.....and please stop screaming....
whats the cost for the Ztec???
Well according to my tape measure there longer ,unless the numbers LIE , OH they will fit in the plastic holders WITHOUT a dremal too , all you got to do is think about what your doing and use your head .

He just said they were longer fruitloop. Take some PAXIL and relax.
I guess you just don't know what your doing as many, many CEGers have not had a problem.
How can you NOT know what your doing ? there numbered correctly and i know very well how to install plug wires
FRUIT LOOP
I think if i just had my Body Kit i would chill down some GRRRRRRRRR ,
Just put mine in today and they fit PERFECTLY...not through the stock wire looms, OBVIOUSLY, but the stock wires are "wrapped" all around the coil so if you don't remember how the stock wires were placed EXACTLY, you might have a "length" problem.
mY 9MM wires went through my stock loom ,i will have to take pic's cause they WILL FIT , ,think about it for a second while you trying this . .
Yeah, they fit if you cram them or use a dremel which just thins out the loom even more. I'd rather spend a few bucks and get some looms that hold 9mm wires.
You dont need to use the dremal tool .
wow all this uproar....i put my ford racing wires on during the summer and had no problem with length...over the yrs with different cars i've never seen replacement wires that were exact same length and the originals i replaced...big deal...as for the looms or whatever they're called i put the wires in teh bottom parts and left off the covers...they stay in place just fine...dremEl if u want or dont...just stop the madness
I will have to post a pic , ALTHOUGH i must admin , i have seen a BIG power increase and i think gas milage,I swear i have a new engine in my car . im happy with them.
I called Bill. The only 4 cylinder wires he has are for the Escort and Focus 2.0l Zetec. Does anyone if it'll fit? I'm guessing no...
how much 10-20hp?
I'm curious as I've been looking at these too.

Dream on.
From what I've read, you may get a couple hp over OEM, but the biggest improvement will be the fact that you have new wires vs old, so better ignition, fewer misfires, etc.
I really cant say 10-20 HP, but for sure more HP. 5-10 maybe ? I cant notice a hell of a diffrence , like i said it feels like i got a new engine
Okay guys, settle down here...
First, the 9mm wires are better performing than Stock only because
they can deliver a hotter spark than the OEM wires.
Second, the 9mm FORD MotorSport wires are slightly longer than the original wires.
I'm only talking a few inches longer, not a foot or more...
Third, you WILL need to Dremel out our stock wire retainers (Looms)
because they were made to fit the 8MM OEM wires exactly.
You don't need to remove much material.
I did my retainers with a stone that was exactly 9mm in
diameter that came with my Craftsman Dremel kit.
They wires fit perfectly with just a little slack on both the Coil and Spark plug ends.
After the installation of these wires, your engine may idle a little more smoothly
and you will feel a sense of more pickup since the plugs are firing a little hotter.
I doubt you are getting more Horsepower.
I installed my wires with a set of Bosch Platinum +4s,
and they have been running great for over 30,000 miles now...
Not everyone gets the same results as I do with these plugs, but I wish that they did.
They work great for me.
Just ordered a set.
I just couldn't justify buying another set of Magnecores.
(I jacked a wire the other weekend...)
Thanks for the info, ibub!

Not our cars, I know, but GRM did test several "stock legal mods" (Solo II) a while back, but I think it was on a Saturn. Anyway, stock plugs beat all others, and wires made a difference of about 1-2 hp with the magnecores.
Our cars could be different, and the FR wires aren't the same as magnecore, so could be a bit more or a bit less. My point is, some gain is possible, but probably not measurable except on the dyno or on the track.
Im more then happy with them and so is my friend who added them to his SVT.
Hey, I ordered a pair, and now I can't loosen the nuts on the plastic cover to get to the 4,5, and 6 wires to pull them for replacement. Any advice on what to do so it doesn't strip my rachet (using the 7mm by the way)?
