I just got my OBD II reader from Harbourfreight.com for $40.00

Sure beats some other deals but it is simple for simple folks,like me

For free you can borrow a full obd2 system from murrays for a day, it lets you monitor all of the cars functions ie. maf flow rate, mph,tach, o2's and other fun stuff as well as identify fault codes. $40.00 seems like a good price though if all you need to do is scan for codes.

They obviously raised the price then. They had been back ordered for months. Probably just upped the price to match the demand.

i think it's a very base model scanner, but still a good price IMO. if you can't find another scanner for that cheap, then it's a good deal. i can think of a cheaper way, build your own, but i don't know how, so don't ask me.
