Has anyone rigged up a group buy of the DMD?

Terry Haines has them for as good a price as you are going to get...I'll bet.

i have two 5 speeds and woudnt mind gettin a couple

there is also BAT and Performance ford who sell them, I think for cheaper too, but probally just a coupl bucks.

Here is some info from bats homepage:

"Dual Mass Crank Damper
Used on the latest Mondeo 2.5L V6 Duratec engines these "Dual Mode Dampers" reduce vibrations at a more than one frequency. The part looks much like the standard crank damper with a second mass ring pressed on the front, hence dual mode (two dampers). When installed the final resultis really quite amazing. The engine feels smoother and more refined,especially above 4000 RPM where the secondary mass comes into play.We would recommend this part to anyone who uses the upper part of the rev range on a regular basis and wants to help extend their engines longevity. As far as piece of mind goes, if Ford decides re-engineer a part it might be to address a possible problem which in this case makes upgrading even more worthwhile.

I am not trying to take over but if we can get this started then one of us can call around and make some arangements!!!
If we can get like 10 or more people we can probably get like 15-20$ knocked off, so then it whould be around $80.00

Well guys, I called today and they said the best they could do whould be $88.20 @ 15, and it whould be a week or two.. So I don't know if it's worth the worry

our groupbuy back in August came up to $119 shipped for 16 of them (from Terry not BAT). shipping came up to roughly $4 each.

Well it is a good price, but the only way there willing to to it is if one person pays for all of them and then ships them to every body else. Which whould meen someone whould have to collect all the money from every body else and then order them!!!! So if someone is willing to do this lets get this underway....

so then it would be $88 each and that would be all that is paid (per person) on the initial purchase from the seller, in other words no additional shipping charges at that time? Then some where in the neighborhood of $4 each shipping to each individual coming to a total of about $92 shipped? Is that right or would we have to pay for shipping twice? Because if that's all then I'm all about making this thing happen!

sorry, I forgot to mention that our group buy had these same terms.
Since we were all within driving distance from the person who the DMDs were shipped to, we only had to pay the initial $4 each to get them all shipped at once to his home.
(I believe total shipping for all 16 came up to $65)

Is that price includeing the bolt you need as well?

Nope, that will be another $2.39... Honestly guys I think we would all be better off if we bought them ourselves unless we can get them for a better price

For 2.39, its not worth my time to drive somewhere and find a bolt. Just get them to make it a 'kit' for $90 and be done with it... my 02 cents.

I put in an order with Joe (sp motorsports) for one at the begining of July and he still doesn't have them. If someone does get a gp together I'm in.

Does the dmd work with the 3 liter or does it already have one?

Yep, if you can get the guys to send it as a set (bolt and DMD), then I can ship um out, I work at a shipping receiving place and we use FedEx ground.

so does this mean u'd be willing to sponsor the group buy mm???....i've been thinking it over but i doubt we'd save much since im all the way cross country from bat

im gonna end up ordering one either way so if i can save a few bucks why not

by the way does bill have access to getting dmd's??? he's busy now i know and prolly wouldn't want to tackle the whole issue of dmd's either way but i was just wondering

Count me in if it's gonna happen, but I can't afford it until at least November 4th or 5th... but I want DMD and it is rapidly approaching time to replace the drive belt in my Mystique... 47000+ miles, the belt is looking brownish with long small cracks running lengthwise on the outside, and the tensioner is starting to move to one side indicating a strtched belt (still near center though), so I am going to get the DMD this coming month, group buy or not...

thats what im thinking sometime in nov ...that would give enough people time to see and get in on this if it can happen and time to get and mail their funds
