**interest check** Strut tower caps

This is strictly an interest check for now for strut tower caps.

What: Strut tower caps for 95-00 Contours and Mystiques.
These will be made from CNC or forged/pressed aluminum or stainless steel depending upon which product works best. Accomodations for those among us that have camber kits will be looked into.

Why: To cover the top of the strut in the engine in an effort to make it look nice.

When: Anticipating production start in 4 - 6 weeks depending upon interest.

Other: I will also consider anodizing or powdercoating. A portion of the proceeds will go to a charity. No, it's not my ramen noodle fund either. I do not know the price range yet so don't ask. Well, you can ask but I won't know.

It will be something like this that I have.

I don't see why not. The strut tower bars that I have seen leave enough room for this to still fit and stay on.
I will, of course, make sure it works before delivery.

This piece sits on top of the strut and is held in place by the rubber bushings. It's a snug enough fit that it won't rattle off and does not move.

I've seen it in person and it's a quality piece and a very nice aesthetic upgrade to cover up that ugliness.

I meet with two CNC machine shops today.

Yes, this is an item that I would LOVE for the Cougar as its a showcar only... I'm assuming that these will fit any duratech..

I was thinking about the Kitties last night, actually. I plan to be stopping by some dealerships to try them on for size. I'll post what I find out.

Very interested but only with "accomodation" for my camber/caster kit.

Are you getting the camber kit from the GB going on now?

I only made it to one machinist today and I think it's the only one I need to visit. I was shown some of the projects they have going on there and it is very high end, extreme tolerence stuff going on there.

We discussed my new, updated specs for the piece, took all the measurements, played with a few really expensive toys and he'll have me a few test pieces when I get back from SZ.

As for anodizing. Every piece will at least have a clear anodize to keep it protected and sharp looking.

Pricing is looking to be around $50 per set. I will be doing my best to have that include anodizing and shipping although I will not make any promise to that price yet.

And yet another option I am looking into is to have laser engraving available for production #'s, name or whatever. again, just looking at having that as an option.

I'm still in for 1 set for my Cougar... will these covers fit snugly enough to deter any thieves at a show?

There is a rubber isolator ring there already and I assume these press fit over that isolator ring ... correct?

yes they press on over the isolator.
we tried them on my car with the OMP this weekend, they fit nice.

Thanks Elky/Tea Bagg. They will fit with the OMP bar.
They will not fit with Konis, yet. Since this is funded out of my lint lined pockets to start with, the initial offering will fit stock suspensions and those with OMP.

In the future, I'll make changes to accomodate Koni's and different camber plates.

I don't know yet if they will fit the cougar but I will be trying it on for size. They do fit snuggly over the rubber piece and anyone that would steal these off your car are scum.

I will be picking up the first pair this weekend to make sure the changes made will still work.

I am still working on getting these anodize for a freat price. As stated before, they will be at least clear anodized. The ones I have now are not and after a few years of wear and tear it took alot of polishing to clean them up.

the Cougar has Koni's and an OMP... please make a set that accomodates my criteria... please!!!

I'm going on Koni's this winter...keep me updated on when you have a set for them!
