NC84 over on Fastcougar is making custom shift boots for 99-02 Cougars. I asked her if should would be willing to make boots for the Contour. She needs ebrake & shift boots for templates. I'd send my shift boot to her, but it's been modified. Anyone here willing to send her your shift boots? Here's the thread over on NECO...

http://newcougar.org/forums/showthread.php?t=89374

She's making custom order shift & ebrake boots for the Cougar for $15 each! While that might not be our price for the Contour boots I'd say it's a safe bet it will be close to that in price. Beats the pants off the alternative of $60 for Redline or even more for an OEM one.

Keep in mind, she has agreed to explore making boots for us and has not agreed to start taking orders.

PLEASE post here if you would be interested in a shift/ebrake boot from NC84!

I'll send my boots...

I can send pre-98 boots as well.
I'd be in like no other

Im in for both, want them to match my stock tan seats or Alcantra in a matching color
The problem I see is they are vynil. I personally will pay more for real leather than plastic.

yes i can do that , its also a heavy vinyl . leather seems to crack and split after awhile and i have never had a problem with vinyl so i use it. the red/black one in the pic is mine and its been in my car 3plus years and no problems yet

I'm guessing from what she said here that she makes them all from vinyl. I think i'd rather go with real leather instead. But that is a good deal if you would want vinyl ones.

That is a good deal for vinyl shift boots. Nevertheless I definitely prefer the leather. I have to say, good quality leather should last at least a decade or two before it cracks or splits, at least as far as I've noticed. My shift boots haven't done that, and neither have the seats. The boots are just a bit stiff, and the seats are creased from use, but not cracked or split. I have a leather jacket I've owned for 6 years now and worn every day during the winter and it's looking to last for many years to come. Leather cracks and splits when it gets excessively dry. As long as you take care of it, which includes using products to moisturize it if you notice that it's getting too dry (after all, it is skin!), that shouldn't happen. Not that I'm an expert, I just like leather and I own several leather products.
We need to find out which colors she can do. I'd love a black with midnight blue piping..

Im not a NECO member, can soneone who is figure out whats up for the csvt guys?

Thanks,
