I contacted trubendz about a possible group buy and I want to see who might be interested. I asked them specifically about their aluminized dual exhaust with magnaflow muffler. I'm waiting on a response and I'll post back when I find out the deal. If you're interested, please post.

Thanks,
Vinny

I think I'll have a response from them tomorrow so it's tough to say how long this will take. If you really need to order it now, I suggest you do so because I wouldn't want to see you having to wait on everyone else.

Once I hear from them I will explain to them that some want stainless and some want aluminized. Hopefully they'll give us a discount on either one. I'll post as soon as I have details. Glad to see there's quite a bit of interest.

Not yet. I encourage anyone who might need this right away to go ahead and purchase now as group buys usually take some time to get put together and completed.

I think you guys will really like this exhaust. My friends tell me that my car is pretty loud even though I have the resonated version with the Maganflow muffler. It sounds great at WOT and gets many people's attention. I want to remove the resonators eventually but it will ruin my stealth.

The 3L guys will see the best gains because of the 2.5" exhaust.

OT: I have had the aluminized exhaust for almost 2 years now and it still looks pretty good. If you live in a snowy climate or like the bling then SS is for you.

Interested depending on price. Looking for SS Magnaflow.

Thanks!
Posted By: The Five-Oh! Re: Possible trubendz group buy - 10/03/05 10:07 PM
I hope they're up to being flexible cause there are ALOT of variables here.
Posted By: Pienstars Re: Possible trubendz group buy - 10/03/05 10:40 PM
I know there are a few different systems that people are interested in. If they agree to do this, I'm thinking that I'll try to negotiate 4 choices.

1: Aluminized, Resonated, Magnaflow muffler
2: Aluminized, No resonator, Magnaflow muffler
3: Stainless, Resonated, Magnaflow muffler
4: Stainless, No resonator, Magnaflow muffler

I think it would make it a little easier on Trubendz if we went with only one brand of muffler and I'm pretty certain most people prefer the maganflow. If this is a problem for any of you, please let me know.

This is just an idea that I came up with. Before everyone starts posting about which one they want let me find out for sure if this is going to happen. I was on the road most of the day today but I did leave a message with them. I'm making a point to try them a few times tomorrow until I get someone on the phone. BTW, if someone has spoken to a particular person there that you think I should speak with, please post their name.

Thanks,
Vinny

Not really, all they do is hook-up to your cars computer and pull information that way.

Have you tried sending them emails as well? I typically get better responses out of that. That way you have written documentation on what the offer is and who gave it to you. Sometimes that comes in handy.

I'm thinking about getting a CF hood GB going pretty soon here and possibly a a-pillar gauge pod too. Judging by the last CF hood GB documentation would have been a huge deal.

Yes, and still no response. If I'm not mistaken, they did a group buy for the cougar guys a while back so I'm not sure why they're not responding to this one. Especially with 20 possible orders!! I'm not giving up

Here's a copy of another email that I just sent.

Hi,
I've been trying to get in contact with your company regarding a possible group buy for www.contour.org I have about 20 people interested at the moment in some of your exhaust systems and I'm trying to find out if you guys are interested in setting something up. I've left a few messages on your voice mail but have had no response. If you're interested, please let me know so that we can work out details and I can pass the info along. If you're not interested, I would still appreciate a response that way I can let all the interested people know it's not going to happen.

Thanks,
Vincent Palmieri

Immediately after emailing them you receive an automated email response claiming that you will receive a personal response usually within 24 hours.
Posted By: CSVT#49 Re: Possible trubendz group buy - 10/05/05 01:22 AM
So I take it they didn't respond the first time with in 24hrs.

Hmmm I ran into this one time, but the reason was worthy... the guy who owned and ran the business was told by doctors that he had cancer and was under going treatment. So needless to say it was a month before we heard anything. That was back when I had a group purchase for some Corbeau Forza racing seats for some fellow Camaro owners and I. The company was Mean Mustang Supply, but his website has long since shut down and I think he actually passed away.

Not saying that is the case here... but who knows.

Not sure. I received a message from Josh stating that the email he tried to send me was returned. I've emailed again from another email address and left more messages. If I don't hear anything in the next couple of days, I'll assume it's not happening.

Well guys, I never heard back again. I'm no longer going to pursue this because in all honesty if a company can't give me the courtesy of a returned phone call when I told them I have nearly 20 orders for them, I don't want to deal with them. Sorry to get everyones hopes up but believe me, I tried over and over to get this going with them.
Posted By: rkneeshaw Re: Possible trubendz group buy - 10/13/05 04:04 AM
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

try again in a couple days maybe? We've got like 20 people here, if we had more details I bet more would hop aboard.
Posted By: Harrry Re: Possible trubendz group buy - 10/13/05 05:53 AM
I swear more and more companies that helped build aftermarket parts for our platforms. Seem to want to help us out less and less.
Posted By: ZeroHour Re: Possible trubendz group buy - 10/13/05 02:25 PM
Maybe if we all call trubendz and leave messages they will answer one of us! haha whos in on that?
Guys great news! I took the time and called Trubendz this morning. Here were the problems:

1) Vinny your email has been bouncing back all the emails from the trubendz guys.

2) They shop was torn down this week to have the floors done so no one has been in this week, let alone have a phone or computer.

BUT here is the good news!

I was told over the phone Trubends, instead of running a group buy, is going to run a sale on the exhaust for 2 weeks starting Oct 14 to Oct 28. The Alumiumized exhaust is going to be 10% off and the SS is going to 15% off. So anyone that is interested will be able to place an order directly through Trubendz.com with the discount applied!

I gave the guy my email and I'll get all the offical details, but all I know the GROUP BUY IS ON!!!!!

Optional:
And if anyone from the forums orders we are suppose to mention we are from contour.org so they can guage how many orders actually came from us! I would imagine alot of them!
Hell [censored] yeah!!!
Wow! So like $350+shipping for the stainless Magnaflow. Great deal. I gonna see if I can afford this before the sale is over, cause when I bought my Bassani I didnt know it was 2.25"

you might want to start a new thread with the purchasing info.

I wish i wasn't broke or i would be all over this
Got my email from trubendz:

Below are the details taken from my original e-mail to Vincent.

We'll take 10% off all aluminized kits and 15% off stainless steel kits. This would apply ONLY to standard catback kits. We'll start the period on OCT 14th and end it TWO WEEKS later on Oct 28th.

We will update our website with the discounted price for the above listed time period. There is no minimum [buy-in] required. We will ship kits in the order they are received. Depending on the level of orders and when they are placed there might be delays with shipping. We will notify anyone if delays occur.

E-mail me with any questions that you have or others might have. I will try to make posts with updates as much as possible.

Where do you get this number? I get $475-15% = 403.75 + shipping. And that is for the 2.5". 3" stainless says $525.

I was notified about the email being bounced back via a voicemail that josh left me. However, about a week ago I supplied a different email that I know is working fine and left more phone messages and I never received a response or a call back. Thanks for taking the time out to get in touch with them so that these guys can get their exhaust systems.
damn this sucks i thought i would have more time to plan and save for it. guess i am out

So this means only the standard (non-res.) systems are being discounted.
Yes I would believe so, but you still can't complain! They cut us a deal and I'm happy with it!

Yeah I was looking at the alum. res. kit. Sorry. Still a good deal but I wouldnt want a non-res. kit.
-tropictour
well, i was waiting to see the outcome here. too bad those cheap bastids will only discount the non-resonated systems. i dont want mine to be tooo loud so for a few bucks more i just went with the resonated.

good job on getting them to pull through though!
Check the site, there is no change of price yet! lol but its only 10 am. I need to put some $$$ into my checking account first anyway.
Jeez, I was supposed to get paid today, but my direct deposit didn't go through! It usually goes the night before.
Just got home from school and picking up my check. The trubendz site was updated today with the discount applied! Don't forget to take pride and mention you are from contour.org!

As of right now I am so pissed with trying to set up this paypal crap. I finally got the damn thing set up, and I tried to place my order and trubendz and it gave me an error and told me to check my account overview to ensure I won't double order. How the hell am I suppose to know if my order went through or not?

Pick up the phone & call Trubendz. They will sure as hell know if they've been paid.
Posted By: ZeroHour Re: PayPal is PITA - 10/18/05 10:52 PM
I redid the order. I waited a few hours to make sure nothing showed up on PayPal, then ordered it again and it appeared right away. So everything seems good. I'll probably call Trubendz tomorrow and make sure that it went through, and through only once. My roomate here at college said that paypal will sometimes run like crap when the internet is busy during the day. He had a problem similar to mine ordering paintball gear. So it seems, i hope, that everything is right now.

Other question I have is who does trubendz ship through? and any guesses how long it will take to get to PA?
