Has anyone had any problems with the crank seal going bad after installation of the crank pulley? I want these but dont want things going wrong because of the pulley. Thanks.

i've had my udp on for about 9 months and i've had it off and on twice...still not leaking oil...

since my y-pipe deal went through, i'm rather considering this..

what are the advantages of these and how much would the necessary belt be?

the advantages were listed before in the other group buy threads

you will extend the life of the power steering pump and alternator if you spend alot of time at high rpm, there could be a horse power gain, and you get to have them in a few different colors

would have to guess the belt is abot the same in cost as a normal belt, it is just a different size

Brian pretty much summed up the advantages...

I'll get the details worked out with the machine shop and start the GB...

Yes you can but it would be better if you get it through a local parts store since it'll just increase shipping costs... The belt number K060730 which is readly available in any parts store

The only reason Mark is getting it from me is that he couldn't find the belt in UK

What belt is "K060730" like the company b/c i would want a gator back one like i have now so i need the sizes.

Its a Gates part number

I don't think there is a gatorback in that size

72.5 will do the trick too... But its easier to install the 73 inch

No bolts included, I don't think they are TTY

I don't think they are tty either, doesn't make much sense in this case, had the water pump pully off in both my mystique and our windstar and reused the bolts without issue

The P/S pullies are all done waiting to be anodized, they had problems with the material of the alternator pullies there are some made but not all done...
I was told the new material comes in on wednesday and then after the rest are done they all are anodized...

Am I correct in saying that the Goodyear belt number 4060735 fits for both alt and P/S pullies as it says in the old GB? This is the gates part number right?

Thats correct unless you have a cougar with the updated front cover that uses a 83 inch belt

yeah the tracking system isn't that great. from when I ordered things before it takes about 8 to 10 days to get to me in CT so depending on where you are it will be longer or shorter. Just hold on, if Nima said they are on the way then they are

You need to use the Canada one than i guess when in its the US than you can use USPS.com.... Just my guess. As for mine the tracking says it was accepted on 2006/02/09 and thats it.

The tracking system is not all that great, but they can tell you the status on the package when you call 1-888-550-6333 (this is the number for Canadapost)

as said before the tracking system isn't good. You will get your item, this is the third time I have ordered parts from Nima and they always came. It seems that the tracking number doesn't like converting over to the USPS side of things. As Nima suggested call about the package to get an answer.

I'm not worried about getting them, I was just saying that it was still there. I'm sure it'll get here when it gets here.

because it is. think of highschool physics class, or maybe middle school. if you are spinning on a chair with weights in your hands when you strech your arms out you spin slowly and when you pull the weight close to your body you will speed up.

so it is the same here, you make the pulley larger, based on a point on the edge, or where the belt sits, it takes longer for it to make one full turn over the stock pulley. this will in effect slow the accessory down, or underdrive it when compaired to stock

I think that the effect will be addative if you think about it. you put on an underdriven crank pulley you are in effect speeding up the belt roation, you have pulled the weight closer to you. this in effect makes it seem like the accessory pullies have gotten large then stock and the crank pulley has remained the same, just as these pullies will be doing.

So if you put them together I think that the effect will be increased.

yay, got mine in today. Only a little bit of scratches from bumping around but otherwise very nice pieces. I can't believe how light they are. Money well spent it seems.

not enough that I care about it. It's just from getting rattled around. I was just blabbing really and leftover frustration from dealing with Bank of America today.

If you're using it on USPS's system, yes. The numbers don't cross reference from what I understand.

The tracking system is pretty slow and not accurate give it a bit... If you want to find out where it is exactly you can call the number i posted in this thread

I have not recieved mine yet. And when I try calling the 1-888 number it tells me that they cannot process this call because of the area Im calling from?

Nope, but I know how you can figure it out...

-Belt w/out underdrive but with A/C
-Belt with underdrive with A/C
-Find the difference in size

Just take that difference from what you have now and hopefully it will be the right size...

I got mine installed last weekend. I did a lot that weekend so I can't say what the pullies individually did. They aren't very easy to install, because we took out the alternator to do it, i saw no other way. P/S is easy though, took 15 mins to do that one. Alternator had to come out anyway for MSDS headers supposedly anyway though, so it seemed like minimal trouble. As for the belt, I used a Dayco 5060735 and it barely reached, I wouldn't go any smaller. Check out my CougarDB site for pictures.

i got mine today!!! sooooooo pretty....do you really have to take the altenator out???

There's stuff in the way as far as I could tell, so my answer is yes, the alt's gotta come out. Once we figured it out, it wasn't tough to get out and reinstalled.

well the alternator pulley is pressed on so you would need to get a puller in there, I think if you get the tie rod out of the way there might be enough space ...

My alt pulley just came off once I took off the nut on it?!

It helps to have the alt out but from my experience it wasn't necessary, just need an impact to loosen the nut on the alt unless I have a speacial edition alternator with the pulley not pressed on?

So did anyone figure out the corect belt size?
