Does anyone happen to have pics. of the fuel doors that are compatible with our cars???....I'd just like to see everything there is to offer.

You're insane Goonz. The brushed door looks sick on the black cars, or any colour for that matter.

IMHO if you buy one and paint it the same colour as the car, what's the fukcen point? Just use the stock door.

i am having mine powdercoated cause i dont want any crome on mine at all. its the darth vader

Makes no sense. I understand you want everything black, but your stock door IS black!

All you're doing is adding weight.

I've contemplated getting one and painted only the door, and leaving the ring brushed aluminum.

because i like the look of the other door, a friend got a black one and paid an arm and a leg for it and it looks sooo much better than the aluminum on his back svt focus. i dont care about adding a pound since i am saving major weight with my cf hood and cf trunk lid. trust me it will look sweet powdercoated black

I still dont understand why these are popular. I mean, the whole point of a fuel door is to hide the place you put the fuel. I think it looks like a patch panel on cars. I mean, why do you want a stick out feature on your car to be a gas door. psh. But I guess, if they make it and it fits your cars, you'll buy it up...

i surely will, plus to some people they look good. maybe not to you but to others, like me

and another reason is some of the fuel doors have a lock on them so no one can mess with your fiel or break your gas door off

I'm in as long as it will bolt right up to the csvt

i beluve they do but you do have to cut the cup around the fill nozzle but thats a 5 minuite job with a dremel

No cutting is needed at all. You simply twist off the plastic surround, and the whole piece comes out.

As of now, I am still taking interested parties. Once I get a strong showing I am going to take this thread to my friend and the GB will be on.

good deal well count me in for 1 deffinitly. have you thought about posting a gb intrest on the focus boards as well. i know a ton of svt focus guys and they love those. they fit thier the same as ours.

I don't post in Focus forums... Maybe someone can link this.

nothin is chrome on my car..having that would be like the boldest thing on my car..if the door is powdercoated black then it'll be another fine detail that someone close up will notice..

Once again, the install is a 20 minute job. The old fuel door literally twists off. Then you bolt on the new. This is where it is a DIY job. Very easy.

It looks like there is a damn good interest. Can we go ahead and start the group buy?

no i am the pimp (it says so in my name chad) but you did give me a great tip for the fuel door, what does everyone think. instead of all black i will get the center powdercoated black and the outline powdercoated silver to match my wheels. and the screws will be black

pretty similar to my idea of painting/powdercoating the actual door, and leaving the ring aluminum. If you want to P/C that also, that's up to you. I do like the idea of the black screws though.

i really liked this guy's idea...

id be interested, my fuel door is broken. Its the 96 that has the latch inside, and it wont close, a piece is broken so I want to get a new one.

So is this group buy gonna happen? Cause I have the money set aside because this week is nuts at work so I'll have extra to spend

and if I would paint mine(doubtful) I would probably paint the bolts and the door to match the color of the car and leave the ring silver to accent it. That would make it painted,subtle mod that you'll never notice until you start to check the car out.

Oh unless you have a silver tour cause then that wouldn't work haha then you could paint the ring a different color! that is my .02 on the possibility of paint
