The might for my cruise control wont even turn on. I have a feeling that it could be just a cut wire or something since it looks like the previous owner did some handy work under the dash with speaker wire and what not. Guessing that it once has a sound system installed.
So I was wondering, does anyone know or have it documented what wires do what for the cruise control. or even have an idea at what i can try to fix this problem.

Or could it be a fuse? The manual doesnt give a fuse number for this. I and going outside now to check all the fuses under the dash.

Check the cable from the CC motor to the throttle body. Mine
disconnected a few weeks ago at the throttle body. Actually,
the gas peddle jammed for a moment when I went to accelerate
and then the CC cable popped off. Another common problem is
the ??clock spring? in the steering column that connects the
switches. If its the clock spring you should have it
replaced by a trusted and qualified mechanic, since the air
bag has to be removed.

The horn works, I hit it with my head a couple times when cleaning the interior the other day.

i dont believe that it is the cable at the throttle body. checked that some time ago when i first had this problem aand it was fine. caan i tell if it is the clock spring without having it looked at first?

Horn OK means at least part of clock spring assembly is working properly.
Most likely fault, based on past posts would be cruise switch assembly, however wiring problem or faulty control module cannot be discounted without further checks.
I'll post later with suggested next step to diagnose further.

You have a light ?

My 98.5 SE Sport doesn't have any indicator at all.

Mine is not working either. I did a search on alldata.com that gives you several ways to diagnose it, I can pm that info to you if you still need it. If you wind up taking the airbag out, let me know what you find. So far, I haven't been able to figure out why it won't turn on.

I have had two cruise control cables go, they just wear thru "somewhere" its pretty odd actually. I just left the cable off this last time.
