When I start the car and put it into gear it wants to jump and get going right away. Also at only half throttle it chirps the tires hard going into second. What is going on? Is the transmission on the way out? Help guys

Yo
Mine did that. Really annoying. The Auto Trans fluid was low. Added some and it has been great ever since. If it is time for it, you might even want to have the trans system flushed and refilled by the dealer or your favorite repair specialist or you if you are a do it yourselfer.
Yeah, definitely check the fluid level. (Car idling, in park.) If the fluid is OK, try resetting the computer. (Pull the negative off the battery for a few minutes.) Use Mercon fluid BTW.

I checked the fluid and it was fine. So is the tranny toast?
I always have to let my engine idle down before putting in gear or it'll jerk. It's a ford transmission,, anything could be wrong.
Mine (1995 V6) did that a few years ago. The automatic transmission was fried. Spend $3,500 on a rebuild. I also had other problems though. Like the transmission would not shift to drive (the shifter was in D, but stepping on the gas did nothing). But, the main symptom was very hard shifting --- like someone kicking you in the pants every time the transmission changed gears --- accompanied by a knocking sound.
