**Symptoms

- Car stalled out without missing
- Car wouldn't start up immediately, but did after 10 minutes
- Car effortlessly stalled and fired back up again- while driving- and missed only at this point.

A friend and I worked this out. I rented out an OBD II code reader and ended up with P0320, so I immediately checked the ground and ripped the coil pack off the car.

The surface on the bottom is definately rough with surface rust, so I'm going to clean that up. Here are our ohm readings:

4 6 5
3 2 1

4-3 registered at 13.65 K Ohms
6-2 registered at 13.87 K Ohms
5-1 registered at 13.78 K Ohms

Primary read 1.3 Ohms on the first pair and .8-.9 Ohms on the second pair. That seems a bit off- but the connectors are not rusted

Thanks for any and all input. The MIL eliminators took care of my other worries, and this code was pending at SZ06, so hopefully once this is fixed it will be the LAST of my issues for just a little while..

Check Crankshaft Position Sensor and connector.

Crankshaft Position Sensor (the bottom one).

And from Autozone

what does code p0340 have to do with the code p0320 that hes getting , besides the fact that the computer uses the crank sensor for reference for ignition purposes? (dont kill me just asking)

anyways his CPS which is on the rigth (pass) side of teh motor just above the crank pulley is brand new.

I should have been more clear. The picture was so that the CEGer could see where the CKP (crankshaft position sensor) is and why I posted, "the bottom one". That thread was for a different issue (CPS camshaft position sensor P0340).

P0320 could be ignition (coil), CKP (or maybe RF signal ???). I wasn't going to post that until I confirmed it but since this was brought up, check the RF signal connector by the ignition coil, the one on the passenger side of the ignition coil (if it is seated properly).

Sorry Tony. The code was for ignition. I wasn't aware P0320 could represent multiple problems.

Is it a faulty coil pack?

"The code was for ignition."(ignition input).

"Is it a faulty coil pack?"
Could be. Specs from Autozone

But I would check CKP (and connector) and Radio interference connector first. You might have a loose connector or chaffed wire.

Edit. Did you drive over a puddle or was it raining?

One other thing "Pre98". How do the wiring harness look?

the harness was fine , no lose wires no dirt or grime , and no "green stuff"

teh autozone website says the primary resistence should be between .3-1 ohm , we have one that is 1.3 ohms , a little out of spec (the haynes manual also said the primary should be about .5 + - .05 ohms so who do we believe?)

autozone site also says our secondary should be between 12.8-13.1kohms whereas we are getting between 13.65 to almost 14 Kohms

can it be that the coil pack itself is bad?
