So I was leaning back on my seat and it snapped. It had been starting to lift up on the left side, I should have had it looked at right away I guess, but I was buys. The metal actually broke off. It snapped between the top and the bottom....on the right side.

So I'm hoping somebody can help....is it safe to get it welded?

I can't find a replacement seat from a local wrecker, none in the same color, most are wrecked anyhow.

Ford wants $600 CAN plus labour......brutal.....

If I can't weld it, is it possible to take the hardware from the bottom of one of the wrecked seats and have my good stuff put over it?

Any other ideas?

thanks for any input!

Welcome .

"is it safe to get it welded?"
Yes. It is much safer than a broken seat.

"If I can't weld it, is it possible to take the hardware from the bottom of one of the wrecked seats and have my good stuff put over it?"
It sounds like you don't have a power seat. Yes, you can replace it with hardware which fits.

Or if you can post a picture of what you need, I'm sure there are CEGers who are parting out their cars who can help you.

Hi, thanks for your replies. I am in Saskatoon, sask, Canada. Here are some pics of the break...and the color of the seat. Hope that makes it a bit clearer as to what I was talking about. Before it broke though the opposite side had begun to lift up...not sure if it's foobared too.

If anyone has one they want to sell please let me know.
