Just out of pure curiousity...what are the acceleration numbers published by Ford for the 2.0L contours? I can't seem to find the info anywhere.

They're still waiting for the test to finish

Personally, with my current cta intake, I can do 0-60 in about 10.5 seconds. woohoo!

Haven't done quarter mile, but it would probably be 17-19

Oh damn that's funny. Cruel but damn funny...

C'mon... You know at least the MTX version would have finished by now.

The Zetec is pretty quick in the 0-40 for an inline 4. but really there isnt much past that. Once you hit 3rd gear its basically over for the torque. But I really would like to see a turbo Zetec.

It's been done.

my fun is here:

1st gear: 0-27ish
2nd gear: 27ish-45
3rd gear: 45-60
4th gear: 60-85ish
5th gear: 85ish-115ish

on a track of course...

i really could care less how long it takes to get there, cause the zetec, IMO, is the best sounding Fuel Injected 4cyl. motor ever made for a car. period.

BTW, those gears will go higher, but you lose most of the tourque after the posted speeds.

those are near redline in every gear. i have noted that most of the Zetec's torque seems to come between 2,000 and 6,000 RPM.

i love my zetec. its not the fastest car in the world, but it suits me just fine. scoots around town great, while still getting decent mileage. but the best part for me is the sound...and the looks i get at the next light when i pull away from everyone at the previous light...in a contour

I don't know, the SRT-4 has a pretty mean sounding engine and exhaust.

Remove the turbo and add a muffler, how would it sound then? But I don't think our engines stock sound particularly good.

I've heard that one before! I'm sure you'll end up seeling the car before that happens. SHould have saved your money and bought a Focus.

Really? My ATX DURATEC (!) would have trouble matching that time on occasion.
