I don't know how many of us have actually gone through it but dammit, I am going through Contour Withdraw. This is probably the 8th time for me dealing with this.
The first and worst time when when Sir Speedy was having the transmission rebuilt back in Oct 2002. The next few times was every time AAMCO had my car trying to fix that damn leak, and for Chevy of North Charleston to fix my door after the retired Air Force officer hit it.
Now, my car's been away from me since Thursday, and it's driving me nuts. I am supposed to get my car back today, but it's not soon enough.

I am going crazy here

Contour Withdrawal happened pretty much a few months after I got the Probe GT and steadily increased as that car began having problems. I don't hate the PGT, just like the Contour more.

Yeah I went two days without my car last week and it sucked but I got to keep about 500 miles off of it, which was good.

Well, it looks like I am going to have to deal with the withdraw for another couple of days. AAMCO told me my car would be ready late this afternoon, but yet, when I called at 4:30, lo and behold, my car was still torn apart on the floor of their shop.... "Ordering more parts" they say. So apparently the people who originally rebuilt the tranny F*cked it up ROYALLY.
He(the owner) said they would put a rush on it and try to have it back together tomorrow afternoon. So we'll see.

I haven't been able to drive in over a week. I've still got another week or so before I can. I hate being sick. On the bright side, there's supposed to be thunderstorms all this week and my car will sit nice n shiney in the garage for all of it.

Are you going to a school in Utah?

Its funny that they have the Jazz NBA team in Utah. But everyone knows they don't allow music.

I love my SVTC, but I've been going through BMW withdrawl for six years now. Hmm, the Orlando Carmax has an M5... Anyone wanna drop $50K in my Paypal account so I can buy it? Oh well, didn't think so...

What's this with everyone getting SVTs?

You can get a car on campus if you try hard enough. I managed to get my PGT on freshman year for the spring semester by parking it (and leaving it) on one of the few streets around that don't require school or resident parking permits. Some of my friends got them by working or volunteering off campus.

That sucks. That was ONE of the reasons I choose to go to the college I choose. Also cost, location, PARTIES, and the fact that I'll still get a degree from the other school I was looking at even if I stay all four (or more) years at my current university.

Chit man, I hear ya, I am at three months. I got her in dec, she was gone for two weeks(new engine). Than I drove for a month, and then the tranny died, so hear I am whining to you guys about it.

well if you have any other ideas let me know (well...seriously). my dad wants me to buy american...i'd like something with four doors, and something that wont kill my insurance, but will still be fun to drive and mod....
dont get me wrong, i love my current contour, but i need something more than the atx zetec...and since i already am pretty knowledgeable about contours, getting a low mileage csvt seems perfect. plus no one knows what the hell they are, which is awesome

as for getting the car on campus though...its just not going to happen, the car is going to my brother during my freshman year. it is a good idea to sneak it on campus though...ive heard of freshmen parking in the visitors lots, etc...
