I'm sure the FI guys probably rule this department.
CTA HAI - around $160
Optimized TB - around $120

Does exhaust count? It apparently should - then add another 5 huns
Over $150 on new gaskets and tools I didnt want to buy whole for a car I purchased only for $300... and only to learn the Head gasket wasnt my problem...
Um...this is gonna be pretty lame...

$50 used intake
$25 glasspack w/ free install by a friend.

And I think thats about it. I really gotta start doing something to the car, but its gotta wait until the truck is finished.
$95 RVM Tru Air intake
holy crap I i'm 2nd place so far and my car is not even fast

$336 on exhaust (just do it right the first time)
$227 on intake

Ooops. Correction.

CTA HAI - around $160
Optimized TB - around $120
Ford Racing wires - around $35
Tranny coller - around $55
Coil pack - around $55
Exhaust - over $500
SuperChip - over $220

I am not counting any suspension mods, any looks or audio mods since that wasn't the question.

I would say that the most expensive mod was Eibach + BAT springs, and the least expensive "Mobile" engine bay sticker
I actually figured this up a couple days ago...

~$6696 in the motor and engine management
-$5000 for Street Flight turbo kit
~$2750 in drivetrain modifications
----------------------------------
$14,446 in engine and drivetrain

geez, thats not even including aesthetic mods, wheels and tires, stereo, or suspension.

Are both of you guys using a dyno tuned chip. Burrita you paid $700 for a quaife . I hope that was a typo, unless you bought it 2 years ago. You guys are crazy. I will have most of the same mods when finished(probaly a year) and will have probaly spent half as much. Pays to catch good deals, and be able to do some stuff yourself. Either way hope both of ya make it to spring zing....running
I wish I had money like that....
Only bout $700 so far in real performance mods,, but all the yellow is worth far more in performance than any of that $700 worth of stuff.
I can barily pay for a full tank of gas....
This thread makes me depressed
Well I'm in high school and the only money from my job that I spend is on the car,,, insurance, gas, and mods. Now I have to save for college, so car funds are drying up... just gonna do some things I need to do to get in running good for college,,, struts, maintenance, exhaust, and a couple other things so I won't be bothered during college not being able to work on the car much.
Im in HS too, but finding a job = Impossible...
yea like I said, the turbo guys definitely run this...

ive caught plenty of deals. Ive just cut no corners and gotten just about everything i need to keep this thing together.

Quaife $491 vs $595
pauter rods for $950 vs $1026 + shipping
Ross Racing pistons $780 vs $900 original price tag
Street Flight kit for $5000 instead of the now $5500 upgraded kit
Fidanza $350 vs $400
Apexi AVCR boost controller $350 vs $400+
Warmongers 80mm MAF $300 shipped vs $400
SVT dual honed UIM, TB, and all accessorys $507 vs $1015

Not to shabby i think.

And livinsvt, yes i am running a dyno tuned chip. In fact, Im running the same program as Tom because I bought his MAF off of him and they spent countless hours tuning his car to get it right. However, because Im running a lower compression things might need to be changed a bit. Keyser has talked about flying down to Detroit MI and tuning Stazi and my car.
I wouldn't say you cut the corners in the least . Thats good you found some deals. That would be a good time to have a meet and watch both of your cars get tuned.
About 700 on Tru Duals
CTA intake was about 120 I think
Alright, here come the BIG GUNS:

TH fix: $0.68.

Now, if we included maintence costs only, I would be WAY up there. two entire engines, with labor, one new clutch: $2600.
Hmmm....

Engine/Induction/Exhaust
$ 55 Optimized TB (not counting core charge and powder coating)
$ 45 9 mm FMS ignition wires
$ 120 Brad Noon custom 3" intake pipe
$ 35 S&B 8", open cone filter
$ 20 MAF Adapter
$ 595 MSDS Headers and Y-Pipe

Transmission/Driveline
$1150 Spec Stage II Clutch, Flywheel and Torsen LSD
$ 30 Redline MTL
$ 105 Steeda Short shifter and riser plate

Wheels/Suspension/Brakes
$ 290 Approximate cost Stazi's brake pads and rotors (4 sets)
$1000 Rev Model X (17x7) w/ Toyo Proxes 215/40/17
$ 400 Rousch Cougar springs and ST200 struts
$ 60 Steel brake lines and synthetic brake fluid

Total: $3,905 Without labor, and not counting aesthetic mods, like tinting, plate frame, dead pedal, etc. And a PnP is still coming, as well as a superchip sooner or later.

wooo

tuning is expensive
SCA intake + K&N - 125
off road sho shop y-pipe - 165 (i think)
FMS wires 40
trubendz cat-back - 340

I have the same motor as Burrita. I just don't quite have all the little parts yet. I think he has me by about $1000-1500 or so.

Edit: After reviewing Joey's list he has a few more things than I do. He has me by about 3-4k.

I haven't updated it for a while but currently the price just in mods not including any labor is $24,000

Come on who here can give me a run?!
I'll make a list Rick. You don't have that much more stuff than I do. You just paid more.
I put over 30,000.00 in just the engine internals alone.

Until it wouldn't start and I had to pull it all out of the cylinders.
I take it back. I'm only 13 to 14 thousand. That's if I paid retail. Childs play to a man of your pocket book.
geeze man, with all the $$$ going into these cars by some of you guys...I'm surprised nobody has made it into the low 13/high 12s
