Contour acroymns please define

Here are some common Contour acronyms describing some system that needs to be replaced or cleaned. Please expand upon them and add your own if you like expanded as well of course

MAF
EGR
IAC
IMRC
UIM
LIM

Except for UIM/LIM which are Upper and Lower Intake Manifold, respectively.

Well then Lance I think that the CEG Terminology needs some updating to include not only UIM/LIM but any other acronym that is often used

What does TPS mean. the context is taken from trouble shooting

"TPS is responsible for acceleration enrichment, engine load estimation"

TPS as in TPS reports. Make sure you put your cover sheet on them.

TPS = Throttle Position Sensor

Lance we have to put TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) into CEG Terminology as well

Back on topic, maybe an update to the terminology page would be nice... but also don't forget that if it gets too unwieldy it will be difficult for people to use when trying to find one thing in the list.

On topic: As long as it is in alphabetical order it should not be too difficult to skim through.

AFAIK=As far as I know
CEL=Contour Enthusiast Light

Or Check engine light, whichever

These are the only ones I can think of that haven't been listed...

there is such a thing after all.

Here's a couple when referring to stealerships or repair shops:

- MO-FO (Mother...)
- SOB (Son of....)
- CS (you know!)

Don't forget that the BFH fixes all!!!

I've heard things about the BFH from Y2KSVT. Comes in handy from what I've seen. Sometimes a LFH is in demand too.

Except that "definition" is wrong.

All the TPS does is send a signal to the PCM to tell it what Position the Throttle is at. That's it.

It has nothing "really" to do with either thing you stated.

Load is calculated using PCM data (numerous points) vs MAF readings vs rpm vs etc.
[simply put] Fuel trim is O2 regulated and PCM data based at part throttle (PCM learned fuel trim on preset tables) & MAF regulated and PCM data based (preset tables) for WOT.

Yes the PCM uses the TPS to denote WOT. However WOT is WOT as long as the TPS is past the break point (~85%)
