Were split rear seats really added in '96?
My '95 has them, the reason could be that it was made in September '95.

Are you serious?!??!?! That looks pretty damn good to me.

Whomever put the picture of the SVT up, thank you. The image doesn't have a copyright tag so may be removed, however.

There seems to be some wrong info in there.
The split seats were standard on the LX and SE for '95 model year but not available on the GL. In '96 it became an option for the GL.

While it is a nice SVT pictured, they really should use a picture of a stock one.

I have a '95 GL parts car that says otherwise. Split folding in it.

I don't know which part is my favorite; the hazed headlights, the dirty hubcaps, or the two-tone Silver Frost paintjob. Honestly my non-SVT Contour looks about as bad as this one, and I certainly wouldn't want it to be representing the entire model line.

Maybe there going for an accurate condition of the average contour.

You know that silver contour has had its face crushed in.

"SVT was upped 5hp to 200hp due to additional Extrude Honing of the primary and secondary intake ports. "

I thought the 99 recieved a different fuel system which changed the hp?

Am i worng here. So i guess c/d was wronge maybe?

Wikipedia can by it's nature have a lot of mistakes. Anyone can write an article and anyone can ammend it.

However, this part of the article is correct. The 5 hp increase for the SVT did come in 99 and it was due to more extrude honing.

The change to the returnless fuel system mid model year in 99 did not effect the power rating. At or about the same time, the displacement was changed with a slightly smaller bore to better match European engine sizing standards and the compression on the SVT was raised from 10.0:1 to 10.25:1 to keep the power the same.
