Has anyone had a coil spring brake (covered under service program 01L013000) and had Ford pick up the cost of the tow? My spring is broke at the bottom near the seat and I??m sure if I drive it to the dealer its going to pop out and cut the tire. It??s going to cost me $75-$100 to have it towed to the dealer, I think it should be part of the so called ??good will? program (actually, I think they should have done the right thing and replaced the defective springs in the first place).

Thanks
Jeff

I had my front springs replaced by ford under that recall or whatever it is. Have them tow your car, they towed mine for free. I wouldnt advise driving on it.

Just as a reminder, your auto insurance will cover towing, if you selected that coverage option (its only like... 5 bucks to have it... I would ALWAYS suggest taking that)

Had both front coils replaced.... no problem with recall!

Are you talking rear coils?

How long is the recall for? I have 120K miles on my 98 SVT. Just noticed a broken spring but is captured so should not escape.

IIRC, the SVT is not covered by the recall. Have your dealer check OASIS for you.

I believe that it was just an extended warrantee for 97-98 Kansas City built Contour/Mystique. 10 yr 150k mi for the front springs.
