I have AAA and I pay $250 a month for full coverage on my SVT and PLPD on my Camaro. I am 20, and have a few tickets.

I have State Farm, I pay about $78 a month. That's with two tickets and three points on my license. I have a $500 deductible on mine as well. I have Ohio insurance now, though. When I lived in Michigan it was about $140 a month!!!!

These boys are spendy to insure...

I have a 97 SE...which for whatever reason, all the insurers group as the SAME as a 98 SVT. Why? I could not tell you...but here in WA your insurance is through the roof if you have an SE.

SVTs and SEs are considered "high performance" by the companies, so expect to pay quite a bit. You'd be shocked at the difference if you get a quote on a 4-cyl.

I tried to explain to 3 different carriers that my car is NOT an SVT. They cared very little. Basically told me that because the 97 SE is the predecessor to the 98 SVT (bull!) I have to live with the cost.

I have one ticket on my MVR and pay $1475/yr.

I'm 20, no tickets/wrecks on record, pay ~$90 a month on the escort and svt for liability and uninsured motorist. Pay ~$15 a month on the zetec as a pleasure car on my mom's insurance.
Posted By: CSVT1214 Re: Insurance on the Contour - 07/25/06 04:31 PM
$300 a month, 2 points against my license, 20 years old, full coverage on my car with $500 deductable.

It's going to drop like crazy when I turn 21 though. My insurance agent put together a quote for my insurance when I turn 21. It's crazy how much it will drop. Thank god.

I pay 215/month for full coverage on both the SE and the SVT. I also have a few tickets

for my 98 SVT , 950$CAN per year full cover and im 24
Posted By: Blue Goose Re: Insurance on the Contour - 07/25/06 04:53 PM
$900/6 months full coverage if I'm the primary driver. Squeaky clean record, good student discount, safe driver thing discount with 2 comprehensive calims which DID NOT affect the price. This is outrageous if you ask me considering my record and its on a 11 year car hardly worth $2500, but State Farm has been good to me with not totalling my car when it should have been when the hood flew up and covering about $1000 in damages when it got broken into 2 weeks later, and not driving up the price 1 cent!!! And the best part is that I'm only a part time driver on the car to save me money so its ~256 or so/6months, so i guess tahts allright although it limits the use of it but oh well, its better then not driving at all. Insurance companies are retarted though because I can think of tons of girls that have a checkered record, are absolutley terrible drivers and still pay less becuase I'm male I am "More of a risk!!!!" Explain that to me! anyway, thats what I'm paying.
Posted By: kipsvt98 Re: Insurance on the Contour - 07/25/06 05:01 PM
$700/6 months through esurance. That's after a 10% discount for paying the full 6 months in advance.

Two more days until the big 2-5 so I'm hoping for a BIG drop.

EDIT: Starjammr, how old are you? If you're 21 or older you could probably do better with another company.

My yearly premium is 1100 for my 99SE Sport and a 98 JettaGL. Full Coverage on both. The Jetta is actually more then the Contour.

This is with AAA. I also have 2 tickets that are aout to drop off. I am also married and 26

I own all of you. 4300 a year, im 18. Clean record, no tickets or anything, full coverage, i dont know what my deductible is.

On a side note i found this funny:
Full coverage for a 95 SE: 4900 a year
Full coverage for a 99 SVT: 4300
Full Coverage for a 2003 SVT Cobra: 3300

Stupid monnex.

So I'm not the only one paying out the ass. You are only about $160 US more a year than me.
Posted By: BrApple_dup1 Re: Insurance on the Contour - 07/25/06 06:55 PM
don't have a SVT but being 24 and having two cars, one with full coverage and one with everythign but collision I pay about $3200 for the year, plus I get a dividend check so it really is about $2200 a year for two cars, so that is about $184 a month. now when I shopped around before for the same coverage most companies quoted me about $1800 for 6 months ...

For me at least, Progressive online was the cheapest I could get.

I had them from when I was 18 up until I was 21 and had to move out of the country. Progressive doesn't cover outside North America, so I had to drop them and go with USAA.

Back when I got them I had 3 moving violations (2 speeding and 1 "careless driving") and 1 no insurance ticket.

Then I got another no insurance ticket (long story!), then a few months later an at-fault accident w/ a "failure to stop in assured clear safe distance" moving violation ticket.

About 8 months later, I got another speeding ticket.

Before I got the last speeding ticket, the first 3 moving violations had fallen off, but I still had the at fault accident (w/it's ticket) on there.

--------------------

After all that, I was paying about $80/month for liability only on my 96 GL Zetec/ATX (note that a 96 GL is considered a "GL/SPORT").

When I got my SVT shortly after that, I was paying $345/month with $250 deducts. After moving them to $1000 each, it had dropped to $240/month.

Lived with that until I moved over here, where I had to switch the SVT to USAA (and paid off the lien on the title).

The accident and it's ticket fell off, but the last speeding ticket remained. At first it was about $130/month for European liability, but has since dropped to $60/month.

I live in NJ which is pretty notorious for some of the worst (if not THE worst in the country). I however got off really good due to my mom and dad being the primaries and having a good student discount, not to mention never having any tickets or accidents.

So my damage is 100 per month for full coverage and im 19

i just hope to good my radar keeps me out of any tickets cause i would skyrocket
Posted By: Berkel Re: Insurance on the Contour - 07/25/06 07:54 PM
Something like $1800 for the year. I'm 17 with no tickets.

Progressive, 4 cars on it so there's a little discount.

I am 19 btw but on my parents plan

$1549 for my '96 GL. I'm on with my parents with everything minus collision.

I'm 18 with no tickets/violations/accidents.

It went down about $29/year from last year. Woop-de-do. I was scard that it was going to go up since everyone in my class just about had a ticket but me.
Posted By: Pudmunkie Re: Insurance on the Contour - 07/25/06 10:15 PM
120 a month for full coverage. Im the primary driver, one ticket they dont know about and one accident (deemed not at fault), and 500 deductible.

The number is a bit lower then it should be because there is homeowners ins. + Audi A4 + escape on there also.
Posted By: posthuman63t Re: Insurance on the Contour - 07/25/06 10:30 PM
$520 yr/full coverage on my 00' SVT
no clue what the deduct. is...
22 y/o, no accidents or tickets on my record.
Posted By: Nezerconezer Re: Insurance on the Contour - 07/25/06 11:20 PM
All per month no Tickets but one solo accident. Age 22.

254 with solo account on geico for my 2000 SVT Full Coverage
108 for the SVT on my parents geico plan with full coverage
97 for the 99 Merc 4 cyl with liability only
34 a month for the Tempo, I miss those days.
Posted By: 96_98_SE Re: Insurance on the Contour - 07/25/06 11:51 PM
Oklahoma must be cheap...

$78/month total for:
-2 Ford Contour SE's (Duratecs)
-2 Adult Drivers (30+, Married, No Tickets)
-Coverage is everything (towing, uninsured, etc.) except collision

USAA Insurance (for military affiliated folks...)
Posted By: ScottK Re: Insurance on the Contour - 07/26/06 01:55 AM
I pay $62/mo with Liberty Mutual (affiliate rewards program, plus multi-policy discount)- for an 04 Grand Caravan and my 97 SE. About 70% of the cost is the caravan.
Posted By: BrApple_dup1 Re: Insurance on the Contour - 07/26/06 02:24 AM
just got my bill for next year, about $1900 for the year for my two cars, but then again I am 25 in a month ... oh yeah I get that divident also so it brings it down some more
Posted By: RialKnight Re: Insurance on the Contour - 07/26/06 02:23 PM
I have State Farm as well & I pay $111 a month, for full coverage on my 96 Contour
Posted By: 1slosvt Re: Insurance on the Contour - 07/26/06 03:04 PM
$88 a month in liability alone which is the cheapest its ever been for me especially on the svt but im only 22 with multiple violations but they will all be gone by next year so itll probably be time for a new car since i wont need a 2nd job just to be paying full coverage
Posted By: Beachboy_dup1 Re: Insurance on the Contour - 07/26/06 03:16 PM
I pay $208 every six months on my Mystique, that's with full coverage, $100 deductible, and maxed out liability/medical coverage limits. I'm taking advantage of about every discount State Farm offers, including multiple cars, home owners policy, safe driver, etc.
Posted By: NVMYSVT Re: Insurance on the Contour - 07/26/06 06:19 PM
I own 2 CSVT's

Full Coverage on both thru State Farm Insurance

34.00 a month on the second one purchased
40.00 a month on the first one purchased

thats also with 2 drivers attached to both cars.

yeah, their multicar discounts are the bomb.
I haven't bothered to post up what we pay because of all the discounts.
I'm too lazy to compute what it'd be if we only insured the SVT and had no other car.

I will say though that when I only owned the Cougar, it cost more than when I bought the GL and put the Coug down as a "for pleasure" car (under 7,500 miles/yr)
Posted By: NVMYSVT Re: Insurance on the Contour - 07/26/06 08:37 PM
Yup -- state farm rules...

I have full coverage on 3 vehicles, renters insurance and a supplemental policy on my engagement ring.. comes out to a little under 134.00 a month on everything..

I love State Farm...
