First timer here. I think this forum is great based on the reading I've done so far. I already fixed my coolant light by filling the antifreeze 1/2" past the max level (thanks to you guy's) and plan to fix my clock light with the info I found here.

I just bought a 98 contour LX with the 2.5L with 147000 Miles on it. the thing runs good ("knocks on wood") looks great and I got a good deal ($1800). I was just woundering how many miles others had on theirs. I'm hoping this thing will last me 2 more years.

I'm at 117K miles. It had 41k when I got it 2 years ago, I like to drive. If you keep up with routine maintinence, they should last a good while.

Had mine for a year, started with 76K from the dealer I bought it from, now has 87K with absolutely NO problems (other than one I caused being an idiot, and now my secondaries are acting up, but it's probably nothing). Good luck man, there are people with well over 120K and still running great, keep up on maintenence and it should last you more than 2 years! Welcome to the site!

ive got almost 220,000 miles on my 97 gl. It still runs great. just like everyone else is saying if you keep up with PM and fix any minor things that may go/wear out (bushings) the car will last you a long time.

My "new" 98.5 SVT has around 121,000 miles and runs perfect but won't move. Spec Stage 1 clutch coming soon!
Posted By: Vetterin Re: How many miles on your ride - 05/12/06 09:44 PM
Just turned 45,000 yesterday. FWIW, I finally repaced the original front break pads last weekend and they STILL had some meat left on them. Not counting oil and filters, I doubt if I have put $500 into this car since new.

I think the highest mileage engine is LauraQ her SVT is at the 400,000km mark and counting . I think it's safe to say she has got her moneys worth out of the car .

nothing above that? wow im really liking saturns alot . got a guy near me whos got, as of last year, over 700,000 miles on his with original motor. and plenty of people over 250,000 and quite a few over 300,000.

but yeah sticky this, and how many have replaced the motor in their car? i have, but might have been because my cousin drove it at like 90 each day.

I've got 146,950 on mine! Replacing the tranny right now, but only due to a blown diff. I also pray that with my love and devotion to it, the car will last me a while!

Car's with super-low mileage concern me sometimes though. It just seems like some thing are prone to fail if they aren't properly run through their paces on a semi-regular basis. I'm sure it's just an old-wives tale, but they still make me nervous.

2000 T. Red SE with 95,200 miles (used to be a rental vehicle in New Jersey). Still rides nicely, though.

My car's sittin' at 32,517 miles right now (poked my head into the garage to look ) . It was at 32,323 last month when I renewed my registration - talk about odd mileage ! I'll probably be at about 35,000 miles by the end of the year .

BTW - Just got my car inspected last week , and I went about 3,800 miles in the last year (May to May) . Not too shabby .

I guess I should've added ...
My '95 SE had nearly 70k on it when we traded it in on our SVT (now has WELL over 150k on it & has gone through several owners - did a CARFAX on it )
My Brother's '95 SE had 190k on it when he traded it in on his Scooby
Our mom's '98 Mystique has around 100k or so on it (not sure of the exact mileage)
