Will Pre-98 Tours EVER get a Splitter?????????????

It's not fair! No matter how many times the "Effort' is made to get the Pre-98 Splitter done it doesn't happen. Why,I'll tell you why! Not enough of you 95-97 owners are willing to put out some Cash for something most of us would like and will only be made if WE GET ER'DONE.............

Mirko has agreed (many times) to do them if 10-20 could be sold and SOMEONE would let them use their car for measurements/mold making. As for myself I have offered to buy at least 2 and possible more if CF is envolved.

No Love for the Pre-98

Last one was sold about 9 years ago. How many still hihgly mod them here? 5 of us? Those that own them are HS kids with no money. And dumping $ into a pre98 zetec.

I just think that if people are wanting an aggressive look, they're upgrading to the SVT body pieces, and adding a Mirko to that. The SE/GL bumper sits a foot off the ground, which isn't exactly the sportiest look in the world. Add a slight splitter, and it just looks funny. Add a tall splitter, and it looks REALLY funny because it sits so much lower than the side skirts(or lack there of).

u mean for the non svt front on a pre 98? does the splitter even work on non svt post 98's? oh how i want one, now that i have the svt front..

Excuse Me! I just got the Koni Sport Kit and 18' wheels/tires for my pre-98...........Zetec yet!

Remember even the newest Tour is 6 yrs old, and you all know we are working with what we have, for whatever reason.

No diss'n the old tours or younger CEG'ers, guys. We were all there once.

i'd go for it, but it would only look good if you had the se skirts and the car was lowered. they oughta make a valence for the rear..i know, i know "just get an svt bumper!" but if it can be made cheaper..why not.

go look at the pre98 thread in the astetics forum....98 grand prix bumper is hotter then any mirko out there.

I was once a HS kid with a 95 Zetec Contour... I wouldn't of junked it if the paint wasn't so horribly screwed up...

you've answered your own question. Until enough people plunk down money to get them made, then it ain't gonna happen. For all intensive purposes, this platform is dead. It's sad, and there will be enthusiasts around for years, but some stuff just isn't going to happen for you.

because a splitter for pre-98's would look like crap, the bumper is too high off the ground. By the time you get a splitter big enough and fit right to make it look good you might as well have molded a SVT front.

and btw, 80% of posters in this thread are pre-98 owners

how about you take the little air dam, for lack of a better discription, off a Mystique and add it to the contour bumper? its alittle something at least and iirc todras did this a long time ago before he got his molded pre98 SVT front bumper

How about these? I have a set I'll sell ya...

and get a set of support rods...

IMO...these will only look good on the non-SVT's

Bad move saying only 5 peeps mod pre-98s.... I am a 22 yr old business, home, and 2 vehicle owner and a college grad at that - my 95 tour was the first car i ever paid for on my own in high school back in 2000.

I agree with the comment about not wanting a SVT clone and would like a modded pre98 - that would be something nice to see.... just my $.02
