143,000 miles, should i be expecting something expensive to break/wear out soon?
Depends on the maitenence history, and how you treat it... if you have never had to replace anything in the past and you broke 143K miles Id say you are doing pretty good. Keep taking care of her and she will continue to treat you well. Usualy at higher mileage things that like to wear out are; wheel bearings, brakes (Depending upon when they were replaced), water pumps (also depending on when they were replaced), did you just purchase the car? Do you know its maitence history?
Things to be careful of on a CSVT are the differentials, the 3rd gear syncros tend to be a jerk also. Dont burn the tires, EVER. Unless you want to put an LSD in there, and avoid high speed right hand turns, the duratec has a small issue with them creating oil starvation and possible rod bearing failure, fill the oil about 1/2 quart past full, this tend to help a little.
"fill the oil about 1/2 quart past full, this tend to help a little. "
REally, damn, wasn't doing that. Thanks alot, I knew they had an oil problem, but i didnt know I acaully should put more in. Thanks a lot.

if you want to dump a couple of bucks into the engine, pick up a baffled oil pan off of CTA motorsports, should help out quite a bit... Someone chime in if I am wrong...
right about 102,000. I dunno exactly, i haven't driven it in about 2 weeks.
About 113K miles, no major issues so far....
108k so far, no major issues.
Wait, does a engine count as major?
Almost 112k now, I replaced the diff... but that was my fault.
87,6xx miles.
No issues so far. **knocks wood**
85K, only had to do the waterpump so far
i just rolled over to 112,001k and the only thing that needs to be fixed is to get a tranny rebuild but im holdin that off till 3L goes in . the cluch still kinda feels like new...
85k Just went through about $1500 worth of problems (MAF, IMRC, etc.) and computer issues, but everything seems great now. I just hope it stays that way.
I have a 118k on mine, she runs like a champ!
87k miles. 2 trannies, a motor, a couple clutches, 5th set of tires. These things wear out fast!

I'm at about 162,000 miles.
Running well at the moment (knock on wood), just a few minor suspension items that require attention (bushings and end links, being delivered to the house today).
Other items:
Just put on the BAT intake pipe.
Will be changing the spark plugs (last changed at 95,000 mi) and wires (stock now, going to magnacor) soon. Already have the parts.
Put on new front rotors and pads from Stazi last May, and will be putting on the new rear rotors and pads (also purchased from Stazi last May) very soon.

2. 3 Wheel Bearings (2 rear + 1 front)
3. 2 Broken Springs
4. Pads + Rotors all 4 ends
5. Outer Tie Rod Ends

Its funny you ask this today. I was cleaning my car out and glanced to take a look at my mileage. So i am on the ball today!!!
I think 73,500.. might be 72,500 though
107 000
1 trainy and go for the 2 engine
one brake cylinder master
one slave cylinder
and 2 floor mats
Guess I could list the things I have replaced so far.
1)rear wheel bearing
2)rear strut
3)2 front rotors & pads
And need to replace
1)front bushings every one I can find
2)spark plugs
3)rear rotors and & Pads
But no problems with engine yet, and thats what I am worried about. Every once in a while it just stalls...ahhahah hmmmm
153,355
no major problems
same antifreeze as when I bought it
same tranny fluid
same brake fluid
same exhaust
some suspension work and brake work
I love this car!
About 152,000 or so, I bought it with like 140,000 and have only had one problem with it the IAC. I definitly need to do some maintience to it. I think it has the stock struts in it
and mabye the stock brakes and rotors. Then do some cleaning to the intakes.
171,673 as of aug.9,04 and engine replacement in progress
81,XXX miles. Tranny, clutch, differential. Other than that, just some maintenance! Course, it has a CEL, so technically I do need to replace the O2's, I'm just stuck up here in college with no tools or time to do it. Hoping it will keep ticking past 120K with no problems, then it's modding time!

Had the sun (or moon, whatever) roof motor replaced under waranty a bunch of miles ago. It has since crapped out on me again. Motor turns but it won't open or close. Thats it for problems though.

Cause he likes E1s better... I have his original E0s back in Iowa.
Oh, and I've got like 98,000 miles on my E0... with some small problems driving me insane
There was this guy from Ohio who had a black 2000 SVT with like 2000 miles on it. The damn thing just sits in his garage and never goes anywhere because he says he never has time to drive it or something???...Oh wait, that's me
Mine has about 130k on it......its a lot because my sister would drive from Austin to Abilene about every other weekend for a year.

First dibs on purchasing when/if the time comes, Brian.
[we rib him pretty hard when he shows up at meets: so is this the furthest from home you been w/it?]
Mine has 106K :
* Alternator
* Ft wheel brngs/ tie rod ends
Still has the cracking clearcoat disease, tho.

I wonder what my old one is up to now. I sold him with 182,500 about 20 months ago.
Anybody remember
this guy? bought an SVT in 9/05 with 61 original miles on it...
Just glanced at it this morning,
50,001 K
Minor issues but no major problems so far.
Coming up on 87K...been pretty uneventful over the past 8 years of ownership.

I remember that guy. I have always wanted to know what has been going on with that CSVT, but he hasn't posted anymore.
I'm at 96,500mi. My 3rd gear synchro has had enough and is starting to make noise. I guess it's time to start saving up for the inevitable.
102k on mine before the diff. blew, but pretty good so far, engine is still strong
77k on my 99.
Had to replace the right rear wheel bearing and 3 of my 4 02 sensors since some F'ing animals chewed through all but one.
103,003, has been sitting in the garage for over two months,
, have been using my department issued car, a 03 crown vic, with 82,000k miles.
no major issues on either car.

I'd sell it today if the price was right BTW, I just checked and its 2020 miles to be exact
1998.5 SVT. 147,466 miles. Bought it originally at 77,600 So I am almost to my 70,000 mile mark without blowing anything important...oh wait this stuff broke:
Rack and Pinion Steering
Fuse Box (in car one)
Water pump (10,000 miles ago)
1st sync on my transmission
Linkage to my transmission
But Nothing serious right now
Same antifreeze Same tranny fluid Same brake fluid Same exhaust (minus resonator)
Koni Struts
But my headlights do a light show for the first 2 minutes after they are turned on which is hinting at bad alternator
2nd 3rd and 4th sync's are all starting to get rough and gruff and will soon crap out on me.
I just bought mine on the first with about 105k on it
Needs a right front sway bar bracket and a sunroof motor, both of which i have lined up.
Currently sitting at 50919miles. Purchased at 19700miles in July 01
850 additional since the last time this question was asked!
Karl
im at 81500, bought it july 04 with 68500
