(Note: this is also up in the classified)

I in no way intend for you to all run to your local salvage/junk yards and check this stuff for me, but! If you just happen to be going to your local salvage yard please keep me in mind. I ask because there is only one real local salvage yard to me and the tour thats there has been striped down to it's (birthday suit). Also if you may have anything just laying around you might want a few bucks for or some way we can work out a deal for your spare tiems please let me know.

I am currently seeking these items for my '96 GL.

Aesthetics
- Ashtray assy. the one with the lighter on the outside(whole thing, including lighter)
- Dash panel (the one housing the gauges and vents)
- 6 spoke hub caps (Tour Gods willing a deal on some E0's)
- Either GL front bumper, or modded SVT (Thanks Alias for the idea)
- Rear spoiler

Body repair
- Header panel
- Front passenger fender

General
- Any spare parts for under the hood (See car sig)

In general thanks for all of the help this community has provided me in the past, and to the knowledge I will gain in the future.

Why not check it out yourself at www.car-parts.com
Posted By: BenS Re: Your local salvage yards... - 10/31/04 04:27 PM
Sorry, I did check there and most of the prices are still expensive. I did find a few parts via members of this board, that were alot cheaper then the local/non-local salvages yards listed on car-parts.

I got a question if you dont mind me asking. Why do you need all these parts ( besides the fact you dont have them ), did you buy the car without them , or did they break, seems like an odd list of needed parts.

Bought the car with what little $$ I had. It came damaged. I'd normally just leave ti but after finding this site, it has made me "love" the Contour. I just went out and spent $317 on tools had my Mechanic Uncle go with me. I got a heap load of tools and alot more I'll post later with spec's.

Ben-sorry I didn't go to my yard the other day. I've been hella busy and the weather sucks and now my car's broke and and and

I was waiting for this I paid $1,450 for 'Tour. I have put more into this car then I paid for it thus far. I just love this car and since it is the only vehicle I try to give it all the TLC I can.

So, at this point between low cash flow, and needing parts I'll do practically whatever I can to earn the parts If I can't out right buy them.

=(

NP, ChattavegasSE I'm running low on cash after buying all the nessasary tools to keep up with this car.
