I did mine at 89K....HOLY COW! My secondaries were caked in crap. And the rest of the intake looked like it had about 3mm shaved off of the diameter there was so much garbage. Throttle response is a bit better.

This is really cool and it's probably something I need to do.

Anyone in Ohio want to do this together?

It would be cool to have step by step photos, I'm more of a visual person. smile

Geeze Now I am nervous. My 95 SE has a 111k on it and I thinking I should pull the upper off and have a look. And I am just getting ready to drive it to FLA.

OK..with all this talk of gunk and improvement in idle and performance...should I go ahead and perform this on my 00'..the new engine only has around 9,000 miles on it..I figure, crack the secondaries and save from the buildup ever forming and possibly help the idle stalling...good idea?

Gee, suddenly I'm glad to have a Zetec... my intake is clean as a whistle.

planned mods: exhaust (want to keep it quiet), e-ram (awaiting installation), diablo chip

SoCalSVT -- 9K miles will have very little buildup. Wait another 10-20K before you rip the whole intake system apart.
