Yes I agree with you in part. When there is a meet on the east side of the state all the guys over there want us from the west to come. When there is a meet on the west side they dont come because it isnt right around the corner.
Having been in the SVT/SHO Society of Michigan for about 2 years I can attest your right about the eastsiders not wanting to go to the westside for our meetings at the library and then, dinner afterwards. I tried and tried to get people to drive out there with me, but after the 1st or 2nd meet out there, NOONE drove out there with me. I made the trip solo MANY, MANY times and the club had ONE meet over here, at Snookers in Utica and it was a good meet IIRC I'm truely sorry about not being able to head out to Gingerman, I really am, but I think I explained my reasons for not being able to go and thats good enough Something like this doesn't do much for the enthusiasm for the CEG though, so we might wanna pic and chose what we say next time because I've been getting PM's and/or emails from people and I tell them I just want a meet where people show up, thats all, so we need to try and be as positive as possible. I mean with all the "trolls" we have, they could just say "forget this group, I'll hook up with my own guys and start anew!" It seems we have a small core of "regulars" that show up to our meets, you know who you are and I for one appreciate EVERYONE who shows up to the meets we try and put together. On the other hand theres people who NEVER seem to show up to our meets and you know who you are and the reason for that baffles me. I don't know if you think your above us, your ride(s) are above us, we're too small, etc, but some of the meets, could/should have massive turnouts if your a true CEG that is! A meet like the downriver cruize for example is one where EVERYONE should've turnout, but they didn't (thanks for those who did though ) That cruize inparticular had parking where we could've had 20+ Tours/CEG-ers/"trolls" show up, but we ended up with like 11 people, not as good as it could've been, thats for sure. I don't understand how we had 35 cars at the meet in February, but can't muster half that in the spring/summer monthes As far as the Gingerman meet goes, well, there was 10 SE CEG-ers who said they'd go, so why don't you guys just go ahead and do it and like I said, we'll have a "dual meet", imagine the pics for that Like I said before, another CEG first..."dual meet"
Now that thats done, I'll be at our usual spot on "the island" and for those who don't know, just follow the road around to the right when you first get onto the island and then look over to the left, you can't miss it as its a long straight away. Another thing to look for is the fountain. I'll be there around 11:00 a.m., probably earlier but you guys can show up anytime after 11:00 a.m. and we'll head over to Mexican Village around 1:00 p.m. or so, we usually play that type of thing by ear because we want to wait for people We will be taking a lap of the island too, its going to be a great day tomorrow
