I use dishsoap probably twice a year to get rid of my old wax. I am not in anyway saying to use it on a regualar basis. Im just curious..what were you guys using 5-10 years ago before carwash was around..or werent you old enough to drive yet??

Griots Paint Prep is what I use to strip mine down. Works good.

Sure prep-sol is great...but at over $20 a gallon? I will stick to my Ivory twice a year...No harm no foul.

i dont know about the paint itself but have read and seen pics of people using dawn,etc and it stripping the oils and drying the black plastic trim pieces like the mirror mounts and making them look like sh!t.
