I have to install a new alternator in the SVT this weekend. Long and stupid story. Anyone want to come on by and lend a helping hand? I'm in northern NJ, exit 165 of the GSP, 20 miles NW of NYC. If anyone is interested, drop me a line.

You are going to do this yourself ???
You know you got to pull the outer axle to do this ?
Its a 2 hour job on a lift, I hope you're not going to try this on the floor.

Ouch, I were gonna replace mine on Zetec, but to take outer axle out? (RoadRunner - yours was replaced by AAA shop by the Lincoln Tunnel  )

My Alternator was only a YEAR OLD !!!
Why didn't you ASK ME before you changed it ???
On a Zetec the Alternator is up top...

Hmmmm... the battery gone bad could kill the altenator as well.

I didn't end up doing the work this weekend. I've had a horrible weekend and just couldn't get motivated to do the work. Maybe I'll do it next weekend. If anyone wants to help, come on by! Pete, I shouldn't need to remove the axle, its been done by other before.

I'm only stating what the Service Manual says.
You can unbolt it, but I don't think it will fall out
with the axle in there.
