Assuming that air breather = air filter, the purpose is to filter the incoming air, and remove the dirt, dust, sand, grit, and grasshoppers that could otherwise find their way inside the engine and cause premature wear. As far as the location, it is located inside the big black plastic box that sits behind the battery, and is connected via corrugated plastic tubes to the air intake manifold on top of the engine, and also to the inside of the driver's fender. This assumes that you have a stock, unmodified air intake system.

Are you talking about the breather that people put on their valve cover when they install an aftermarket intake?

I guess that's what he is talking about - like somebody posted here the way to "improve" the CTA ram. Ya know, the small one, like the one they carry @ Wal-Mart.

I think your talking about what I have it sits on the valve cove and it does what it sais, it lets the cams breath. It is used to help the cams move more freeley.

By the way it does not come factory. You have to install it your self, you can buy one at any auto parts store.
