Not sure if you're still considering the Duratec V6 w/ Lincoln LS tranny, but you should know that the tranny can't handle much more power. For instance, the 286hp that the 3.9L V8 in the LS would be too much for it. Thought you might like to know this as you'd have to beef it up if you're going to be adding more power to a Duratec.

The lincoln LS 5speed manual transmission is the one in discussion. You are comparing it to the automatic shiftronic trans or whatever it'c called in the LS 8.

IIRC that was one of the reasons Ford gave for why there would be no MT V8 LS.
