IIRC that was one of the reasons Ford gave for why there would be no MT V8 LS.




I would think simple cost effectiveness. FoMoCo knew most people buying an LS wernt going to want to have to shift their own gears for the V8 - simple economics- why produce a model that wont sell??

Also the MTX-75 wasnt supposed to be able to handle the power either - but look at it now - guys punching out over 400 crank HP and our trannies are just fine.

I would think that the Getrag should be ok as well as im not looking to put out that much power - at least initially - im looking more into the 300hp range

Lincoln dropped the stick because dealers weren't buying them (that doesn't mean they wouldn't sell). And if you look at the typical Lincoln buyer/driver, they do NOT know how to drive a stick. The manual didn't come with traction control. Not too attractive to Lincoln buyers with a V8 pushing them into a ditch/oncoming traffic.

yeah its a volvo B23ET motor with a marine crank. 2.5L with a eaton blower and one huge ass turbo.


Its an Opel Manta - or at least was at some time. man oh man is it ever schweet though!
