So the LS had the duratec V6 right? and it also had a manual tranny right? So would the LS tranny bolt up to a Taurus 3L short block to make a RWD Duratech powertrain?
Anyone who knows would be greatly appreciated
(hint - I have a Volvo 200 series that needs an engine)

COuld it be done! Yes but no without alot of beating as our engine bay is pretty small and getting it around the rear member of the front subframe woudl make things real tight.

just need actual physical confirmation that they would bolt up and the clutch flywheel ect ect will all work
actually a 5.0 stang setup with a T5 drops right in - and the car also had a 90 deg V6 as an option - so it shouldnt be too hard to actually phisically fit into the car. now - to get it wired and running . . .
And to have Stilov or Street flight hook me up with a turbo . . .

Some guys have put Chevy 350's in as well, although its a harder swap. I'm 99% sure there is a book on swapping in V8's into older RWD volvos. Personally I would drop a 302 in and get some goodies. I can't help you on the Duratec from the lincoln LS, but I would imagine with the availability of 302's and the go fast goods, I don't see why you would want to try screwing around with a Duratec?

I dunn owhy either - im just throing around options - and hell the duratec still has one of the best noises EVER for an engine IMHO!!!
The V8 is kinda old school as well - but I dunno - would be kinda cool for a Duratech as well. Bill sells the 3L short block for $500 and a decent 5.0 is around that as well - same ammount of fab work for the two - Just tossing ideas out.

Scratch the 302 possibility and advance right to the LS1.
