Been there, done that, lucky enough to walk away with the same t-shirt.

I knew my brakes would not hold up, even with the Mintex Pads. The pads are fine, don't get me wrong, but after my last trip up to HSV - I could still feel some fadding, so I knew that it was time for better rotors and a nice fluid change. My rear brake are practically brand new, including drums. It's the heat and the older fluid that was almost killing me and smoking out Eric and Mikey Boy behind me.

Glad you made it out ok though!

FSVT brakes and ATE Supah Blue = skin pulling off your face. Of course, that's still no where near Zach's 4 piston, 4-wheel Wilwood set-up w/custom broken Mirko action!

Let me guess, the broken Mirko was deflecting much needed air to the brakes.

I thought it's 6 piston?

I'm thinking bout taking John (chknhwk)'s advice and getting some track pads and using dedicated rotors for them. I have my old rotors at home (I think) so I'll have them turned and then just swap them and the pads on whenever I'm going to something like the dragon. I think that'll be the most cost effective solution to get decently better braking.

Actually, I think the broken Mirko helped with braking by digging into the road surface.

And don't forget about the benefits of changing your fluid. I know alot of guys have been real happy with Valvoline PowerSyn (?).
