You've got air tools, right Josh? The install is a snap; just a matter of waitin for the parts I reckon. Are you guys gonna toss it up on a lift or just jack stands?

Plenty of jackasses around here to help me break in my new brakes under panic conditions. They'll be well bedded by October.

And yes Josh, they are as easy as yours.

Ok guys, on a serious note...

If it were possible to be serious...

I've already ordered up some new brake pads and shoes. I'll be doing those this weekend. I can't afford any new handling advantages such as strut tower braces or bigger wheels/stickier tires. After the accident, the car will have to go up there basically stock. I'm taking a full size steelie in case I have a blowout, that way I don't have to wheel around those turns on a donut. When I get there, I'm going to take the two 10s out of the trunk as well. (I'm leaving them in for the trip up cuz I like mah moozik).

Any other sensible ideas? Is this place really hard on brakes and tires? Is that totally dependant on your pace through the turns? I'm sure some of you that've been up once already know better than I.

Just looking for some sensible ideas before I start packing for this thing.

We're gonna take a practice run. I'll have my air compressor, we'll air up once we get up there. I'll probably be taking it pretty slow too (of course faster than the zx2), cuz my stuff just ain't 100%.

Yeah I went to see how my car would handle today, and dad gave me the privlege of going down the taxiway on base (he's an ATC supervisor at Hunter Army Airfield) and it was like going around one incredibly huge skidpad.

I'll tell ya though, around 70 mph, even with all the [censored] in my trunk, it got a bit goosy back there.

I have yet to go see what my car is like since I've "completed" the suspension. Just going through a divided entrace here at college, squealing tires,,, and somebody riding in the back (no seat back there haha, find something to grab). Not enough to determine anything, other than I drive like a jackass, but everyone knows that.

The Dragon is hard on brakes and tires if you make it that way. Being a manual tranny I stay in second gear to 68mph, I can go through most of the turns with just engine braking. But if you are pushing an automatic car yes it could get very hard on brakes.

The last time I ran through the Dragon, I left my ATX in 2nd and was very easy on the brakes; easier than stayin in D. Not to mention the higher rpm's leaving the corners.

Ross-you can probably leave your compressor at home; a lot of the gas stations up there have 'em. Unless you're bringing air tools and what not.
